  1. FX-2NC-32MT PLC program Download

    Hi, There are two machine in the factory controlled by Fx 2nc PLC. One machine control part is not working. It could be for battery failure. But the other one is working properly. In this case can I change the battery?  After that,  is it possible, I upload the program from the good machine PLC and download it to the other machine PLC? Regards Sohel Ahmed
  2. Hello, We have a FX3G connected to a FX3U-ENET-ADP inside a main cabinet. We are then using that master PLC to collect data from 2 other fx3g plcs in a node:node serial network. I was assigned a small project of pricing out some wireless adapters so we can upload/download to the two slave plcs. My question is, is it possible to upload/download programs to/from the slave plcs through the ENET adapter and serial network in the main plc? It would save us some money if possible. thanks.

Hi fellow PLC veterans, I am new in the PLC world so please forgive me if my questions read dumb to you..   I am just wondering if there are any newer PLC machines that can: 1. keep the program even after its battery is completely flat or faulty  (Is this even possible?) 2. allow users to copy and save the program somewhere so one can install the program again without the need/presence of the machine supplier What tools/software may be required?   Thank you for reading and look forward to your response :)
  4. Hello all, is anybody out there who may read out a program that is stored on a telemecanique cartridge (more or less of 1993)? Program is still running on a TSX 47 40, but have an identical second cartridge. I would send it to him/her even if international post and do not necessarily require the cartridge back. Would be great to have the program as a text file / pdf / hardcopy. Any help appreciated!! Best regards Stefan
  5. I am looking for how others have set up vertical axis motions using the Kinetix 5700 servo system. I have a 2 axis pick/place unit with a horizontal axis (X @ 2500mm) and vertical axis (Z @ 1200mm) that works as designed during normal operation. X axis has no holding brake and Z axis has a factory installed 24vdc to unlock brake. There is a GuardLogix L81ES control system that handles the safety and control. On pressing E-stop/opening Gates the vertical axis will stop the motion, apply the brake and hold with no problems. (2198-D032-ERS3 Drive, 2198-P031 Bus Power, MPL-B430P-MJ72AA X Axis, MPL-B330P-MJ74AA Z axis) The issue that I ran into was an accidental download of the program without activating the e-stop and the vertical axis dropped unexpectedly when entering program mode on the processor. I am aware that this instance was my fault as the programmer, however I am also concerned that this might occur again in the future if the controller ever enters fault mode or someone else completes a download. I have done some investigation with the "ProgrammedStopMode" parameter on this single motion axis and attempted all 5 options and the vertical axis still has a free fall drop for a second before the brake grabs hold - so evidently this is not working for me. (Page 24 of Vertical Load/Holding Brake manual - https://literature.rockwellautomatio...t003_-en-p.pdf) I am curious if there needs to be something done elsewhere as the X and Z axis are set up as coordinated axis? I also am unaware if I need to preform some action/parameter with the bus power supply for this? The current state of the machine as it sits now is preforming a MSF in manual mode after 5 seconds of inactivity or 30 seconds in auto mode. This axis is usually in demand every ~22 seconds. This will shut down the axis after preforming a brake test on the vertical load and seems to function OK, however it is still in the back of my mind the issues mentioned previously if we ever enter a controller fault while indexing.     PLC doesn't respond to communication requests or responds negatively to such requests. A PLC communication error can occur between the programmable computer and the devices it controls or when the technician attempts to program the device. If anybody have idea then share i am fresher now i learn it from CETPA INFOTECH. I think this is the best place to ask.

Hello Experts, We are currently in the design phase of a system with 24 PLC's.  CPU is BMXP342020  [ CPU onboard Serial and Ethernet ports, both capable of MODBUS] Each PLC's are stand-alone and have communication with 9 Modbus RTU slaves.  Also, each PLC will be connected to OPC at central SCADA room via MODBUS TCP. Questions:  Regarding Serial MODBUS RTU 1. CPU onboard RJ45 Serial port can directly make communication with all 9 slaves via multidrop?  Using READ VAR/WRITE VAR function? 2. How many READ VAR/WRITE function can be used simultaneously?  Regarding MODBUS TCP 1. Which module is required for connecting to OPC?     BMX NOC 0401  or  BMX NOE 0100?     Can the above two modules be connected to OPC without any programming?  We need to read/write data to each CPU all the time.  2. Does BMX NOC 0401/BMX NOE 0100 need programming in PLC for communication? 3. Does CPU onboard ethernet port require programming for communicating on MODBUS TCP? Please guide.  We have used M580 CPU in 10 projects and all the time DCS [Client] can read/write data with M580[server] without any programming. But we used CPU onboard port or BME NOC 0301.2 So does that sounds similar to BMX NOC 0401/BMX NOE 0100 Thanks in advance

    We think so we lost the program after a battery replace, because the program isn´t loaded on GOT. Is it possible restore it by the PLC?

  11. I am trying to write some citect variables back to the PLC. I have made a startup cicode script which is suppose to copy one variable to another which I found on the web. I am not sure if just using tag = tag is OK in citect 2018.   12. I have a Modicon NOM0200 unit connected to an access switch to send commands to various rs-232 devices. The Access switch requires a "disconnect string" to end communication with a particular port. The disconnect string is "CRTL+D", how can I send a "CRTL" keystroke from the NOM0200 unit? I know for carriage return it is "$R" is their a similar combination I can enter for "CTRL"?  
  13. I am working on a project with two M340 PLCs and need to read a Real type data point into my PLC from the other. I have setup my READ_VAR block to do this, but I'm having trouble understanding the form of the output. I get that a Real type takes two registers and that each register will be read into a part of an Int Array through the READ_VAR block, but how can I now convert it back into a Real so I can use it in my logic? This is just a fundamental thing that I can't get my head around, maybe I've already read the answer somewhere online but it isn't making sense to me. This also needs to read an updated value every second because it is being used for an interlock. Do I use a TP to enable the READ_VAR this way?

    Hello friends, I have been working on Granite Line polisher machine. I have completed the program but there is a requirement for polishing the Uneven shape of granite slab. Has anyone worked on logic of this machine? Can anyone give some idea for the logic or the Plc program. I have seen Chinese machine manufacturers giving this feature. 
  15. I am having issues with M340 IO scanning. I have the NOE card next to the CPU which is a 2020 item. I have set the Network for the CPU as and the NOE card as To the NOE card I have connected a Deep Sea Electronics 8610 MkII generator controller which has configurable modbus pages. Its IP is I have set the IO scan tab of the NOE to read the device at starting at remote address 442497 (Page 166 of the DSE, 166*256). for 80 registers and to store them in PLC at %MW300 onward. When compiled this read works perfectly with values being loaded. The problem comes when I try a second read from the same device. This time Page 167 (167*256) at address 442753 which is sent to local PLC %MW380 onward. Now when I compile the code the first page is read OK as prior but the second read shows a "Faulty/Absent" on teh IO scanner debug page and no values are read. If I change the first entry to scan page 167 with page 166 deleted, again all is OK. It seams I am unable to make more than one read of the DSE product. I have spoke with DSE whom state the device can have multi reads from multiple masters and they have proved multiple reads from the same and different devices. I am now at a loss as to what to try next. I hope somebody can provide some insight. I also tryed doing teh second read with a standard READ_VAR command with teh same result. Just wondering if its a NOE thing or a set up thing I have missed.
  16. I have an application where data gets placed in a csv file. I need to read data from this file in to memory of a M340 PLC. Is there a way to program the M340 PLC to open and read the file in to an array or is this not possible at the PLC. Looked through google with little success.

Hello,, I have motion controller A series A172SHCPUN,, I have written the program ladder into the CPU, but I can't write the motion program.. i dont have the program to open file the program motion and I want to ask if I have the software SW3RNC-GSVE, my os computer is window XP, Can it be installed? and is the cable transfer used the same as the ladder transfer program cable (SC09)?

  19. Hi I am using a P342020 together with a HMID642 Magelis Panel. Using Unity Pro I have successfully downloaded a program to the CPU via USB. The HMI Panel powers up into 'Initial Start Mode' and is asking me to 'Download the system from your editor.' How is this done? How should the ethernet connections be made? between PC (with Unity Pro and Vijeo), M340 and HMI panel and where do I set all the IP addresses? I guess there is documentation somewhere but couldn't find it...! Regards   Andy
  20. Hello folks,   I am a rookie, self-training in PLC programming. I have written an SFC exercise (attached ACD file). I also try to call STL written subroutines and add-on instructions, from within the SFC main program. Calling the created subroutine works fine, but calling the add-on instruction fails from a reason which is above my level. I tried, tried and tried different solutions, with no avail. I am either wrong in writing the add-on (perhaps some missing but missing tag ?), or wrong is calling it. Can someone please give me a hint on what I do wrong ?   Thank you, Radu PS .     Hi All, I am new to the forum and new to programming PLC and like every newbie I have a lot of questions - Brief History of me - I had been a Manufacturing Technician for 20 years and recently got my BS on Electrical Engineering and now working as an Equipment Engineer. The main reason that got me interested in PLC's is my degree,  the field that I would like to get into and a recent problem that arise at work. My experience with PLC is very small in programming, some in TS I/O- However I had been studying by my self to the point that I built a test bench to understand it better and in the future create different project for learning purposes Currently I am putting together a tool Alarm delay program - Basically my exhaust sensors trigger an alarm (input signal turns OFF) before its send  the signal to my tool for abort, I want to create a different Alarm which will cause a different response from my tool and delay the original Alarm by 10 min and then trigger the original Alarm - PLC = Panasonic FP0C14RS  Reasons: Create a different Alarm: The response from my tool to this alarm will allow me to return my material back from the tool and put it in a safe spot. Delay the Alarm: Use a timer to perform this tasks - This the time that approx. it takes the to return the material. Trigger the original Alarm: I need to know which sensor was the problem in order to properly TS- So after my timer is complete - I want to know which sensor created the original Alarm My Current problem: I created the LD program, and while the original alarm stays OFF the program works fine - but since my exhaust sensor are always on - If my original alarm is trigger for  a few seconds, just enough to start my Delay Alarm: I dont have a way to know which sensor trigger after my Delay(Timer)is complete,  I reset my relays in order to be ready for new alarm.   Please provide feedback to my program - I know currently is not the best way or efficient way to do this and there are better ways, but my plan is to get it to work and then later revisions improve the way the program can be written   Thanks in advanced for your feedback and help
