  1. Hello, I'm trying to use Mitsubishi GX Works 3 version 1 for the first time and get a 'memory is insufficient' error window when I try to open/start a new project or if I try to open a PLC project a co-worker made. I am using Windows 10/64-bit, company we purchased the software from says they are using it on windows 10 without issue. I get the error with no other programs running, have 6 GB RAM, and have 90% hard drive space available. I have monitored Task Manager while opening a file, RAM usage seems fine, and have tried opening with "Run as storminess".  I have tried uninstalling the program using the window "uninstall or change a program" - is the a different way to uninstall this program that will wipe it more completely? The install CD has Disk1, Disk2, Disk3(DocFX) sub folder , Support folders - I ran the .exe file from all 3. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am able to open an HMI project in GT works 3 without issue. I attached a screen shot of the error. Thanks so much!!

  4. Folks, we have a set of Mitsubishi Q12PRHCPU (redundant) running effortless since many years. CPU-A as standby and CPU-B as Control. Recently we noticed BATT low alarm on CPU-B. So we arranged for a spare battery Q6BAT and started the procedure as per manual(attached procedure and flow chart). We did memory copy from Control to standby (as prescribed precaution) and did the Reset of Standby PLC CPU-A. Memory copy from B to A completed successfully 100%. But the BACKUP LED did not turn Green from Red & Error LED kept flickering on standby CPU-A. CPU-B remain in Control but backup LED turned RED. From system monitoring we found that there is a Error 6000 (FILE DIFF.) observed in One of the .QPG (program 00-MDBUS.QPG). We tried to reset it but were not successful. We are surprised that why does the program differs when it was copied from CPU-B to CPU-A using the memory copy. Still we did the VERIFY and found no difference between the programs in CPU-A & CPU-B.  Can anyone explain the cause of this issue and the solution. Please note that the CPU-B is still in control and plant is running. Backup LED on both CPU are red which means (redundancy loss) and error LED on standby CPU-A is flickering RED. There is no error in the CPU-A (Control) -we checked this using the GX Developer. Also attached here are the image of the error and error help. Thanks in advance. 5. I would like to compare the content of 2 registers of D memory on my CJ1M PLC. I'm trying instruction = (equal) and D30 and D50 memory registers to compare data and activate an output, but I don't understand why it shows the same direction (&98 on the image).
  6. CPU load memory

Hi dears, How can i see the cpu used memory in cx-programmar and actual cpu( for example 20%, 30% or etc)   Best regards
  7. Hey all - I am stumped and looking for some assistance. I have a project in studio 5000, v.32 where I have some ABB drives that are not recognized. I've installed the EDS files, exact same one my co-worker besides me did, and mine will not go recognized and it is driving me crazy! I've done it while online with the PLC and offline, still to no avail. I've also installed the EDS files by going through Tools>EDS Hardware Installation and by right-clicking on the ABB drive in the controller organization tree and registering EDS file. Thanks for any assistance, -k
  8. I can debug my plc app with simulator. I created some function block, and inside functionblock I can inspect in and out parameters, as well as local variables. But in/out parameters values are not shown. Any solution? Im using Sysmac Studio 1.29.2 and selected a NX PLC in my project.
  9. Data entered into the PLC D memory table does not end up in the instructions and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. For instance I want to use the CP1W-DAM01 to change a duration value. I have a symbol setup using the corresponding address setup so that it ties in with my timer but the data does not transfer even thought the value shows up in the table. I'm also using it for parameters on a scale instruction, same issue. Any ideas.
  10. CX Designer Generic Popup Faceplate

I was wondering if anybody out there has ever made a generic popup to deal with multiple devices, similar to what you can do with factory talk and wonderware. I want to be able to index addresses from the PLC to the PT memory but it doesn't look like you are able to do this. Is there anybody out there that has come across this same problem?
  11. I have hundreds of .dat files to convert to .csv format. Factory Talk SE viewer can convert them but I was wondering if there is a way to batch convert the files?
  12. Batch reports Comfort Panel

Can any one please provide sample backup please ?     Because i am really confused to achieve the batch process. In Report generation we can print the PDF file which the data's are already entered in that particular page but my requirement is, i need to take print out the following details 1.The parameters should be stored in report from my batch start to batch stop with date and time. 2.And also i want to take report for some particular dates (that dates should be selectable from HMI)  Any idea how to do this?      Please see the attached image (example) and am badly need this please help me  https://youtu.be/tvao1QLlHnM
  13. Good day. I'm using 1756 L71S GuardLogix Integrated Safety Controller with Studio 5000 v28. My controller is connected to a third party software through ethernet connection, it simulates my project hardware and provides all the signals to my PLC. To know all the hardware signallocation at PLC memory, it uses a Tag export file provided by Studio 5000. In other PLCs, when you declare a variable as hardware input, you have to select in which address from the memory you want this input to be read, something like "Bit Input 0.0". But in AB this step is skipped, that is all addresses are managed by Studio5000 and hidden from the user. Is there any configuration at Studio 5000 that let me assign or at least see this addresses? Normally I would prefer my tags addresses to be hidden, but in this specific case it is more useful to know memory addresses.
  14. Hallo.  Can someone shed some light on how much memory st takes ? does it use more that traditional ladder? i find that a routine with a couple of thousands of lines uses over 500kB is there any tricks to lower the usage? Or is it just what it is, and buy bigger cpu’s
  15. Hello people, I hope someone can help me with this. The system is connected with 8 PLC's. I want to transfer the data memory of a PLC to another like this: D850 from PLC2 to D900 PLC1 D850 from PLC3 to D901 PLC1 D850 from PLC4 to D902 PLC1 D850 from PLC5 to D903 PLC1 D850 from PLC6 to D904 PLC1 D850 from PLC7 to D905 PLC1 D850 from PLC8 to D906 PLC1 The data memory is an integer.
  16. Hello! I am using S7-1200 PLC 1212C AC/DC with configured Modbus TCP Server. I can already read/write Inputs/Outputs (Coils) and Memory Words. However I'd like to read/write Memory BITS. Is it possible? If so, how? What addresses should I use in TIA portal? And which function codes on client side? Thanks in advance!
  17. Hello! I am beginner in PLC world, also in SIEMENS PLCs. I managed communication over private network. Now I have a problem that I get same values on all inputs. Picture below shows my configuration of driver and data monitor. First picture shows values when input I0.0 is in state 0. Second picture shows values when input I0.0 is in state 1. Physically on PLC only input I0.0 is forced to 1, input I0.1 stays 0. But data monitor shows both inputs as state 1. Where is problem? Is problem in PLC program, TIA portal? I saw some guys using DataBlocks but I am not skilled enough to use it. Third picture shows simple PLC program on my PLC. Please help. Thanks in advance!
  18. Device point error between Parameter and PLC

Hello all, I am a beginner with PLCs programming. I have an issue on GX Developer programming software from Melsoft trying to program my Mitsubishi Q-series PLC. CPU is Q03UDCPU. When the program is written and I try to upload it to the PLC, with the write to PLC window, I check -Program -- MAIN and -Prameter -- PLC/Network/Remote, click EXECUTE and a message appears : "Device point that is set in parameter is not match the device point in PLC". I can't fix it. In Parameter - PLC Parameter - Q parameter setting (window) - I/O assignment tab : I have (see image). Whe I use CHECK button it says there is no error. The X41 input device is plugged on slot 1/00. I am making this folowing the instructions a PDF I found on the Mitsubishi electric's wesite : Q-series basic course (for GX Developer). Thanks for the help, A. S.
  19. Hey everyone! New member here, and this site has always been a big help!  I try to help other folks too, but a lot of guys are super quick on here.   I've got a problem using some obscure components. I inherited a sensor network at work that uses Panasonic S-Link and I need to read them from a Q-Series. Panasonic makes a module that slots into the Q Series called an SL-VMEL-Q that I have.   My question is:  Did I do everything correctly on my Mitsubishi side? I put it into the parameters as an intelligent module with 64 points and I put the correct address in for the start I/O. Is that all I have to do?  This is the first time I used a module that wasn't on the drop down list when you add one in GX Works 2.   I can read and write to the buffer memory, but I can't get the unit to send to or receive from the sensors. I think the problem is that there is no end unit on the S-Link line (I don't know if it's just a terminating resistor or what), but it previously worked without one, so I can't be certain.

  21. GX Works 2

Hello everyone! Can anyone suggest to take all the Input and Output (digital) status at a time in a single file for backup in gx works2 in FX2N PLC. I need to confirm that all required IO are in perfect condition before start operating the machine. Also I plan to design a troubleshooter to find problem.
  22. Retain Memory CJ2m-CPU31

Hi All, Just to verify if the "memory card" , in attached document Page 4 highlighted area ,  provides Omron CJ2M CPU21 to retain memory when powered off? If yes, for how long can the memory lasts without being charged? Isit capacitor or battery? Thanks in advance. Regards, Summer cj2m-cpu31.pdf
  23. Hi, I have some trouble with a CJ2M-CPU33. My client did a backup to memory card earlier today, and after this we did some changes through remote link. Now the client wanted to restore the previous backup to the PLC and has done so, but the system would not function correctly. After going online on the PLC it seems like the PLC is stuck in "Stop/Programming Mode". When trying to change to "Monitor" or "Run" mode a dialog comes up containing the following message: "Failed to change the operating mode. The operating mode may be still changing in the PLC."  - All the dip switches are set to off after restoring backup - The PLC has been rebooted  - I have downloaded the application again through CX-programmer  - Verified that the PLC is set to start up in "Monitor mode" But nothing helps. The same message comes up when trying to change the operating mode.  Hoping anyone can help to resolve this issue as it is very critical for us and the client. In advance, thanks for any tips or help received. Best regards Stian
  24. We have Q06UDEHCPU PLC.   We require to attain 1k of file registers in standard Ram. Please find our settings attached - PLC Parameter.png; When we try to down the register file – we attain the following error; “Failed to access standard Ram” error message (attached - Downloading Error.png); The program is very small – and thus we have plenty of space as well.
  25. Mitsubishi GX Works Bugs??

Hello I have been using GX Works 3 for a while now and I have discovered a couple of things, maybe bugs. I have not had any training for the software or hardware so maybe I did something wrong. 1 Labels. If you sort a global label table into any order other than the unsorted order that appears by default you are unable to create, delete or edit any labels. Our Mitsubishi representative discovered that if you click on the column header between 'Data Type' and 'Class' the order does not change but now editing is available. This, it turns out is a really bad idea. It seems the position the label was in when it was created is preserved, I think this is the unsorted order you get by default. If you sort the list and then delete a label it is possible that the label that should be in that position is also deleted. I have attached a small project to demonstrate this. Open the Global Labels notice the order they were created. Now change the sort order, click on the column header I described earlier to make them editable and then delete the label in position 1. For a while I thought this was the only problem but recently there has been a number of instances where I have created a label, given it a carefully selected address only to discover that it is being overwritten by another variable. I have not been able to work out exactly what is going on but I believe it is connected to the sort order of the labels. Also if you sort the order and change an address, have you changed the address of another label? The only solution I have found is to keep label tables very short so they are managable without having to sort the order, that is probably good practice anyway 1 Axis software limits. I have been using a number of axes in pairs, in incremental mode as caterpillar feeders, using FX5U-40SSC simple motion modules. I had a problem that the axis synchronised to follow would suddenly stop moving, the customer was having to power down the machine and start again. This problem persisted for months with Mitsubishi scratching their heads unable to fathom it out and ultimately stating that the problem must be in my code somewhere. It was suggested by the customer that it may be getting to a software limit, I showed the customer that the software limit was disabled in the setup and it was confirmed by Mitsubishi that it was not the problem. guess what, it is a problem. Once the actual position reached the limit of the double word memory it would stop moving. The solution is the take the servos out of synchronisation in order to set the position (datum) to zero every cycle. Unfortunately the drives do not always re-synch on the first attempt so you have to keep trying till it does, this now causes slight variations in cycle times but it works. Andy EDIT: I have since been informed that to disable the software limits they must be set to zero. This implies that the Enable/Disable setting is invalid and the limits are defaulted to their respective max values. Surely a default to zero would be more appropriate.     Label Test.gx3
