  2. Hi all. How to replace an Ethernet ip communications module(1756 en2t) with a new one if the old one stops working. What should be done to configure the new module in rx logix? Should I set the IP address? Or is it plug and play? Thanks in advance.
  3. Hi All,  I have an Allen-Bradley 1762-IF2OF2 Module which I am using for a voltage output. The range of my output is scaled to 0-6.4V (0-19968 bits) from a 0 - 700°C input.  Currently I am receiving an output voltage 0-0.458V which is way smaller than my 0-6.4V required output.  Has anyone seen something like this?  I have added some images to help explain how I've set it up.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks C
  4. Control Panel

Is it possible to view the values / states of all inputs, outputs and workbits (e.g. 64.00 through 64.15 on Omron CQM1 PLC) on a single screen or control panel within CX-Programmer software?  I'm trying to troubleshoot some ladder logic that I wrote and need to know the values of 5 or 6 inputs/outputs/workbits simultaneously.  Having to scroll up and down through my ladder logic repeatedly does not work well with code that changes state every 5-10 seconds or so. Any help is welcome.
  5. Hi All,  I am encountering an issue with my Allen Bradley MLX 1200 processor when trying to use the integrated PLC I/O channels I:0.4 - I:0.13 I am getting the error "Unconfigured I/O Address Used".  I'm using RSLogix 500 to program the PLC.  I have tried to configure the I/O however it doesn't seem to allow me to 'Activate/Configure' I/O past I:0.3. Has anyone seen something like this before?    Thanks CThornton
  6. I am looking to open a number key pad on the display and when the operator is entering in his passcode. I would like to hide the numbers which he is entering as this is his master log in for the company network. Has anyone found away around this problem.
  7. Hi, All!  I am very new to PLCs and I am currently writing ladder logic for an Allen bradley MLX1200.  I have a number of inputs which i have addressed in the format: I:1.0/1 etc. which should equate to I:Slot.Word/Terminal. I have checked the SLC 500 Instruction Set document which has informed me that this format should be structured correctly however I still receive the error message "ERROR: Address must be specified to the word level!"  Can anyone see where I am going wrong?  For reference Slot 1 is a 4-Channel Thermocouple Input Module (1762-IT4).  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks C
  8. Hi all. I've been tasked with installing/configuring a development box (dev studio 2017 U3 SP1) and then creating a test application using Intouch to communicate to a bunch of rockwell PLC's on the test wall. Normally we would use Citect or FactoryTalk Studio but unfortunately the customer has a couple of OEM InTouch panels (I think communicating with Siemens PLCs *shudders*) and wants to go this route. Anyways. I spent a day installing and configuring a windows 10 development box with 2017 U3 SP1, Hit the windowmaker tile and started to cry.... The new AVEVA website is practically useless, and I'm still waiting to be contacted from technical support. I have used an older version (much older maybe 10 or 15 y/0) of the intouch software which was interfacing a triconex PLC, It looks like the developing of screens hasn't changed too much, however, Q/ What exactly do I need to download/install for my communications? I've read the PDFs that installed with the dev software and watched a bunch of youtube vids (and fruitlessly searched the aveva knowledgebase) and there looks to be more than one way to skin the cat. Maybe I missed the option in the multitude of installation screens to add additional drivers?? It looks like I need either SuiteLink? or ABCIP version 7? (assuming they are not the same thing??). I can only see ABCIP version 4 (dated 2012) on Aveva (and a tech note about version 6.? and 7.0 potentially crashing the L8x range of AB PLCs) and I'm sure suitelink is a collective term for any and all drivers It seems like it should be a very simple and obvious thing to do but I'm stumped. Any assistance GREATLY appreciated Regards Dave
  9. Can the PlC be accessed remotely. If I hook the CompactLogix L32E up to the internet WAN, would it be possible for an engineer to access and make changes to the program remotely?? Or does it have to be done onsite through the LAN.
  10. Hello everyone, Just wanted to share my company web store. https://voltatek.ca We sell used PLC parts, primary Allen-Bradley.  We ship from Canada. We also sell electronics for DIY projects and CNC Router parts.   Thank you!
  11. Hello,  I have 30 recipes(g_Blend_Recipes) and want to search for an item number in the recipes and compare it with what the operator enters on the HMI. The recipes itself is an array and there are 5 item numbers in each recipe. I read about the FSC instruction but did not figure a way out yet. I am attaching a picture of the recipe. Any help would be appreciated.
  12. Good day. I'm using 1756 L71S GuardLogix Integrated Safety Controller with Studio 5000 v28. My controller is connected to a third party software through ethernet connection, it simulates my project hardware and provides all the signals to my PLC. To know all the hardware signallocation at PLC memory, it uses a Tag export file provided by Studio 5000. In other PLCs, when you declare a variable as hardware input, you have to select in which address from the memory you want this input to be read, something like "Bit Input 0.0". But in AB this step is skipped, that is all addresses are managed by Studio5000 and hidden from the user. Is there any configuration at Studio 5000 that let me assign or at least see this addresses? Normally I would prefer my tags addresses to be hidden, but in this specific case it is more useful to know memory addresses.
  13. Hi guys! I need some help, recently was assined to me make a program with a PANELVIEW PLUS 6 600, until here all ok , but! I need to make a devicenet comunication, and use factorytalk 5.1... here start my problems, i find a EDS file to the factory falk, but, in the rockweell site, the information about compatibilty is "may be compatible"... 14. Q03UDVCPU

I am new with PLC's and I am learning how to work with GX Works 2. I have two questions, 1st Question: Using a Q series PLC (Q03UDVCPU) Is it possible to convert the language of a project from ladder logic to structured text? 2nd Question: If I read a project from a PLC why is it always ladder logic? Is there any way to read out structured text?
  15. Hello, I have a .PBW file in an obsolete PanelView that I need to troubleshoot, but I can't open it.  Called AB TechConnect for support, but tech said it was too archaic and he, essentially, needed to start with a Windows98 machine and PanelBuilder 32 to even begin.  FactoryTalk doesn't know what to do with it.  File is attached.  Any suggestions/assistance is much appreciated ABWWTP.PBW
  16. I need some advice how to tune PID properly. The PID is only PI type (two mode) and its overshooting frequently. Assuming I need to tune P with starting incrementing by very small steps till PID oscillates.  Once the P is established then will be tuning I , again with small increments till PV follows SP.  So this is my assumption below but would like someone to comment on it as I haven’t had to do it before , been learning PLC for 4 months now.  Do I need to start a machine and then start tuning PID or can this be done in more friendly way , offline ?
  17. Hi I'm looking for Ladder Logic code that I could use for a plastic injection molding machine.  I am willing to purchase and/or modify existing code to meet our specifications.  We have lost the Ladder Logic out of the TI/Siemens Controller on our Newbury 100 Plastic Machine so we're looking at replacing both the PLC and the HMI interface with an Automation Direct Controller.  We have the HMI Basic Code for the Newbury but not the ladder.  I've pasted the manual below for our machine.  Any assistance would be much appreicated.  The manual was too large for me to post but I've posted a document with information about how we intend to upgrade which has a little information about the machine also. 24. Hi experts, the pulses counted in my flow meter are not the same with what is counted in my PLC. my flow meter is set at 1 liter per pulse, and the pulse width is 100 mili-seconds  my PLC filter is set at 5 micro-seconds. example for 12-13 seconds in my flow meter readings 23 liters will be dispense for the same 12-13 second it shows 12 liters dispensed on my HMI. please what settings are required to make both the PLC and flow meter count the same ? am using high speed counter for this application. Please i will appreciate any contribution to enable me solve this problem  thanks
  25. Hello all! I have a two part question - both revolve around using Rockwell's CCW software. 1) in rs500 you can mov a value into the an int memory slot and call that int up later on for comp. instructions to see where you're at. Example, if x switch is active, mov value 0 into N7/0. If y switch is active, move value 1 into N7/0. If both x & y are active, move a value of 2 into N7/0. How is this done in CCW??? I've found the mov command but not sure where/how to store this value. 2) How do does one shot [ONS] work in CCW?!? From what I've gathered the r_trig and f_trig is its replacement, and thought it made plenty of sense. But no matter what I do the triggers never work out correctly. Thanks, -g
