  1. Problem: I am getting a control sync fault on 2 recently installed kinetix 5500 but only when my programing PC is connected to the machine network.  Install and setup all went great over a 5 day period.  Then all of a sudden I started to get this fault. Sometimes 100 times in an hour.  As soon as I go offline, and unplug my PC the problem goes away.  I have also tried another PC connected to the Machine network and still get the same result.  Sometimes machine can run for hours with my PC connected with no problem.  I do not have to be online with controller for fault to occur. Setup: I have the 2 K5500's ethernet ports daisy chained together, and then connected via shielded CAT 6 cable directly to port 2 of the Compact Logix Controller Coarse Update is set to 3.5ms and utilization's are at 33% and below.(I have tried the default 2ms with same results) Ethernet modules are configured with FW rev 7.013. Machine network is isolated.(not connected to plant network or internet) Equipment: Compact logix L33ERM Running version 30.01. There are a total of four servos in this system all running over ethernet.  2 Kinetix 350's(not affected), and 2 kinetix 5500's. I have tried: separate ethernet cables for each drive ran through a switch different ethernet cables resetting coarse update speed connecting a different PC for programming   I am just not sure where else to go with this.  Thanks in advance for any help.
  2. We are getting a processor watchdog fault on a kinetix 5500 but I cant seem to find any information on the cause of this particular issue.  Has anyone ever seen this before? Thanks guys
  3. Hi there! I've been looking for some fault codes table for the 1734-AENTR adapters, since I'd like to show a message in HMI with some information when there is a faulty adapter, but I haven't found anything on the internet. So my question is, is there any type of table like this for these adapters? Right now I have a PLC with some AENTR adapters in the program for testing, and since there is actually no adapter connected to it, I can see a 16#2024 error in the module properties, but can't seem to find that info in the module variables.   Do you guys have any clue on how to find this information in order to show it?   Thanks in advance!
  4. Hello Experts Fault LED is blinking in Red in Allen Bradley Micro Logix 1400 PLC Can someone please advice on how to fix this & probable reasons ? Can trial version of communicating software be downloaded?
  5. 1769-IT6

Hi all. I have a 1769-IT6 thermocouple/mv input module. It is connected to a micrologix 1500 unit. The green okay light illuminates on power up, but after you download the program and put it in run mode the processor faults. Terminal block with the cjc's are on the unit. The error message just says the I/O module has encountered an error. The hex code under status bit 6 is 179h. This error code is not in the manual. Has anyone else encountered this? Oh and I only have channel 0 enabled for type k thermocouple. Has anyone else had this issue, or know if it is a configuration issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
  6. Hi and thanks for youre time  I am a newbie trying to connect to a 1769-L30ERMS using an Ethernet cable. I am using Studio 5000 and RSLinx Classic lite for programming and communication. However Studio 5000 and RSLinx Classic lite are installed on av virtual machine using VMware.  So my problem is two fold. Connect the VM so that it reads from the real computers ethernet port Find and communicate with the PLC from the VM There are guides on how these problems are addressed seperatly. For example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdArYVceO1I and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERLTvcBBK_w however I have not been able to get them to work together. So I was wondering if you, the sages of PLC programming might have some tips or trix that I could test or perhaps even a guide for how to do? Mvh Eric
  7. Hey, does anyone know why the simulation mode is on? how to change it? (LED SIM )
  8. Error PLC S7-300

Hi all, My system is using PLC S7-300. Now, it is being SF fault. I followed the manufacturer's sf error instructions. I replaced the CPU Module, but it is still fault. Diagnostic of Simatic announced I/O can't access for reading and writing. Please give a solution, thanks Sincerely.

  10. Unconverted Ladder Code?

Hi All, Please see attached screenshot: Whenever I want to save the ladder program or start simulation, this window pops-up. If I press 'yes' I loose the whole work. I tried to open existing program and modify it, but it did the same. When I clicked 'yes' I lost all modification and just the original program remained. (I made the program in the morning, opened and saved many times but it started popping this window later.) I work with FXCPU series, FX3U/FX3UC type, simple project in ladder. This worked well but now is not anymore. I use Melsoft GX Simulator! Can anyone advise why this is happening? It is very annoying! It is pointless to work on anything now! Many thanks
  11. I am looking help with an issue I have trying to connect to a 5370 Controller 1769-L33ER. The controller firmware is 20.014 and my studio does not have 20.014 firmware. I have downloaded the firmware and do not know how to get it extracted to my PC. Any help with this will be grateful.  Regards
  12. tldr: How can I release/close CIP connections to a 1769-L35E CompactLogix (rev. 17.12)? Starting having communications issues with the controller out of nowhere - no recent changes, been running for years, etc. Tag update rates on the Wonderware InTouch sessions are really slow and could not get online with the controller until the Wonderware DAS was disabled, thereby freeing up a connection. Max number of allowed CIP connections is 32, but, per Task Monitor, there are 35 active connections. How can I drop all CIP connections so that only the valid ones come back? Anyway to do it without cycling power or going from run->prog->run? There are a number of cached message blocks, a  1794-AENT FlexIO Adapter, 10 other generic ethernet devices, and the connection to the WW DAS.   Thank you for your help.
  13. I have an analog output card 1734-OE2V and there is in the fault/actions page parameters for program mode. What is program mode and when it is activated? Fault mode is clear but... Program should be written the value, but when this happens?
  14. I have an analog output card 1734-OE2V. As a default, there is selected fault mode as 'Go to Low Clamp'. I am using output range -10V to 10V. What is the value for Low Clamp. Is it 0V or -10V? If I want it to be 0, do I need to select 'use fault value' and set the fault value to '0'.
  15. Question from a PLC newbie....  We had a "blip" during a thunderstorm where we saw multiple signals on a 1734-IB8S point I/O transition from true to false for ~ 4 seconds (based on our DCS history from a serial connection).  There are several other modules on the backplane, and we only saw state change on this one card.  The 24VDC power is sourced from T-0 for points 0-3, and T-2 for points 4-7, so we don't suspect a short.  It's been suggested that we either had an I/O card "blip", or temporary loss of power to our field contacts (limit switches) caused by dust/vibration of the removeable terminal block.  Our controller is a 1756-L73S GuardLogix 5570.  My question is should I expect to see an I/O fault in the Minor Fault history (we did not)?  Would an I/O fault necessarily show up in this history, or does it need to be configured somewhere? Our points on this card are set up as single points with test pulse from T-0 and T-2.  We are reading status of limit switches in the field. Thank you in advance for any response. Kathy
  16. I had axis fault, which stopped the PF527. Only way to go on was to switch power off and on again. Checking the faults&alarms, I find out that the reason was Bus Undervoltage user limit. This made 'Immediate Stop' for the PF527. Looking at the parameters, I can not find any parameter for this. In the manual it is said 'DC Bus voltage level is below user defined limit given by Bus Undervoltage User Limit, or device defined limit if the user limit attribute is not supported.' What does it mean?  Is there parameter for this limit? Checking the AXIS_CIP_DRIVE tag parameters, DCBusVoltage is not showing anything, why is that? => Reason found, not marked in 'Axis properties' Cyclic Parameters page
  17. Hi, I have problem with 5069-obv8s, trying to use it for a first time just to power relays and contactors. All outputs are in internal fault, even if their are not conected. The card is set to use single output as safety outputs. Additional power on LA+ and LA- ports is connected. I don't know what else should I checked to fix this problem. There is no problem in controler or this specific module just on all of outputs. Hope someone will be able to help.
  18. Is there a way to clear a CPU fault on power up without having to connect to software?
  19. Hello Im using a 1769 HSC card with a L35E and trying to get the RPM. Ive been reading through forums for a couple days trying all the ideas from people who have had similar issues but I still cant get the current.rate(x) working.  Im using a single channel encoder at 60ppr. I believe the card is set up right and the channel is enabled. The counter seems to work fine but the rate stays 0 when im spinning the encoder slow but will jump to  100 or 200 if I spin it fast.  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  20. Looking for some help that i cant seem to find online - I have a  CompactLogix 5370 L1 Controller part number 1769-L16ER-BB1B and would like to connect a 1769-IF4 and a 1769-OF2 Analog expansion modules. Rockwell sales tell me they are compatible The Compactlogix looks to be a "slide in" and the expansion modules are Plug Type. Is there a cable or base rack I can use? Thanks in advance.
  21. I am looking for how others have set up vertical axis motions using the Kinetix 5700 servo system. I have a 2 axis pick/place unit with a horizontal axis (X @ 2500mm) and vertical axis (Z @ 1200mm) that works as designed during normal operation. X axis has no holding brake and Z axis has a factory installed 24vdc to unlock brake. There is a GuardLogix L81ES control system that handles the safety and control. On pressing E-stop/opening Gates the vertical axis will stop the motion, apply the brake and hold with no problems. (2198-D032-ERS3 Drive, 2198-P031 Bus Power, MPL-B430P-MJ72AA X Axis, MPL-B330P-MJ74AA Z axis) The issue that I ran into was an accidental download of the program without activating the e-stop and the vertical axis dropped unexpectedly when entering program mode on the processor. I am aware that this instance was my fault as the programmer, however I am also concerned that this might occur again in the future if the controller ever enters fault mode or someone else completes a download. I have done some investigation with the "ProgrammedStopMode" parameter on this single motion axis and attempted all 5 options and the vertical axis still has a free fall drop for a second before the brake grabs hold - so evidently this is not working for me. (Page 24 of Vertical Load/Holding Brake manual - https://literature.rockwellautomatio...t003_-en-p.pdf) I am curious if there needs to be something done elsewhere as the X and Z axis are set up as coordinated axis? I also am unaware if I need to preform some action/parameter with the bus power supply for this? The current state of the machine as it sits now is preforming a MSF in manual mode after 5 seconds of inactivity or 30 seconds in auto mode. This axis is usually in demand every ~22 seconds. This will shut down the axis after preforming a brake test on the vertical load and seems to function OK, however it is still in the back of my mind the issues mentioned previously if we ever enter a controller fault while indexing. Thanks for your insight
  22. Hello My emulator go to fault state as soon as it goes online and runs (Within a second) and the following error  Code 01, (May have been caused by an infinite loop, a complex program, or a higher priority task.) The same logic runs perfectly fine on a colleague's laptop  I'm using  RS Logix 5000 V30.00  Emulator V30.00.01 Running on Virtual Machine, Windows 7 Host system specs are:  8 GB RAM  Core i5 CPU @ 1.80GHz Socket 1 Cores 2 Logical Processor 4 Windows 10 Virtual Machine's specs:  4 GB RAM  Number of Processors: 2 Number of Cores per Processor: 2 Kindly suggest a suitable solution, what is the possible cause of this fault.    Thank You
  23. I have a compact logix with a major fault. Please see my attached file for the complete fault message.  Code 20 array subscript too large. or control data type to large or invalid. Has anyone observed this issue before.  The PLC is a compact logix model.  Every time, the controller is switched from program to run the major fault occurs within 5 seconds.  The fault can be cleared but then it comes back in a few seconds.  I have been told by my tech that no program changes have been made.  Could there be a hardware/wiring issue? Thanks much Document_1234.pdf
  24. Hello, Have this error come up constantly and can't be reset. Motor hasn't tried to drive at all. Second motor showing same problem. This is a new configuration on new machine. Other inverters configured without any problems. Anyone seen this before or any ideas what could be the issue.
