  2. Hi, I have an Omron NSJ5-SQ00B-M3D Programmable Terminal (HMI) that I am trying to get to communicate with an Omron CJ2H PLC through a DeviceNet module (DRM21) in the main PLC rack.  I don't see how to configure CX-Designer to communicate via DeviceNet.  How is this done?  Many thanks for any help.
  3. Hello, We have a FX3G connected to a FX3U-ENET-ADP inside a main cabinet. We are then using that master PLC to collect data from 2 other fx3g plcs in a node:node serial network. I was assigned a small project of pricing out some wireless adapters so we can upload/download to the two slave plcs. My question is, is it possible to upload/download programs to/from the slave plcs through the ENET adapter and serial network in the main plc? It would save us some money if possible. thanks.
  4. Hello, I am trying to have single press and double press etc. functionality in my PLC program where for example, single press will turn on the motor whereas double press will turn on the motor for 5 seconds. Is it possible to achieve using ladder logic in sysmac studio, if yes, how? Thank you in advance.

  8. connection to omron CJ1M PLC

    I have an omron PLC (CJ1M type) at home which I would like to connect to, however, lately, I can't anymore.  I'm trying on two different PC's a newer and an older one, both running on windows 10. 1 is just mentioning a DLL error and I can't even start cx-programmer, the other one seems to work, however, when I try to go online it always fails I'm using a usb to serial device and after some searching on the net, I thought the issue was with the prolific driver.  I tried all kind of fixes, but nothing seemed to work.  I have now purchased another device, the XS8801 from usconverters and installed the latest driver.  I have checked if cx programmer is set to work with the correct port and this is the case. My knowledge is very limited but I would really want to connect to that PLC again, so hoping someone out here is able to help me. Thanks a lot
  9. Check serial connection to Omron PLC

    Hello, I am building an application in CitectSCADA and I want to communicate with an Omron Sysmac CS1G. The connection between the plc and the Citect computer is through an ethernet to serial adapter (the computer doesn't have com ports on board). I'm having some difficulty establishing the communication and I want to make sure that I can actually reach the plc. Is there a way to check that the computer can reach the plc over the serial connection without using CX programmer? Maybe using Hyper Terminal, Putty or something similar. Thank you, Liron
  10. Hi, I have an old TSX 47 30 that has an I / O fault (red led on) green led on run and plc stopped. I'm writing to see if you can help me to establish communication and achieve the download of the program. I do not have the communication cable or the PL7-3 software under OS 2. So far I have done searches on the schneider page, forums and all the links are lost or deactivated. I have read your answers in plc of the same series and I observe that a converter rs 232 to current loop is needed. In this case here in Venezuela it is difficult to get this converter, however I have observed the black box model 232 CL-E, CL050A and I think it can be useful. I also have an old toshiba laptop with windows xp with a native rs 232 port to avoid another converter and I could make the connection cable DB25-DB9 to the PLC. Now I would miss the procedure to make an OS / 2 bios and get the software or make a virtual machine in which case I require the appropriate software .. thanks for your help

  12. FINS Communication with C++

    Hi, I'm having a little trouble connecting to a PLC from my program. I thought my previous post a few months ago fixed it, but apparently it did not do much. Here is my code: And here is the resulting reply from the PLC after converting it to hexadecimal So far, I've narrowed it down to the issue that my program is sending 64 instead of the 18 that was specified by the FINS command. I assume that the received error is due to the fact that the PLC did not receive the correct instructions from my program. The "End" is not sent by the PLC, it is a personal note for me to know where the received message ends. My goal is to simply receive signals from D00 to D68. I imagine that the received string should be in the form of: 00 C0 00 02 01 01 00 01 00 00 01 01 [Response Code] [Data] Can someone help point out where I can start looking for why my program is sending 64 instead of 18? I do think I am messing up something simple here, but I'm not sure where to start. EDIT: To clarify the models, I am connecting over Ethernet to an Omron CP1L-M40EDT with CP1W-CIF41 Thank you in advance!
  13. Hello everyone, As the title suggests I am trying to display on a GOT1000 the real time frequency that the inverter is running at. I have attached my CC-Link settings and the associated programming as well. I tried using the example program from Mitsubishi but I got lost. From my understanding I should be seeing the output frequency in W3C4 however, I am not receiving any data. Any help would be appreciated.
  14. PLC programming languages are used to program the automation devices in the industrial field. The device connect through PLCs can perform certain tasks like moving products or sorting them. The 5 most popular PLC Programing languages nowadays are all part of International Electrotechnical Commission Section 61131-3 Standard. IEC Standard is a set of rules that standardize PLC languages. 15. Hi! I would like to ask how could I send data from PC to CJ1M PLC, by SCU-41 module and RS232 cable, in order to activate an actuator (LED)? In my environment, I have a sensor that sends data from PLC to PC (I'm checking data, "HelloWrld" with Putty), with this configuration: And I have another section where I want to read the data from the PC in ordr to activate a LED I would like when I send for example a letter 'a' trough Putty, the LED activates. How could I do that? Thank you very much!

  19. Hi All need to convert a Decimal Value into Ascii code to send out on serial 485. eg. Weight comes in as Int 12345 i need to send it out in Ascii as 23 32 20 31 32 33 34 35. I have created an array 0 of 8 (Word) DB. Is there an easy way split the int into Digits convet in into HEX and slot the value into the various array positions? Array 0 of 8 = 23 means # Array 1 of 8 = 32 means 2 (Station ID) Array 2 of 8 = 20 means Space Array 3 of 8 = 31 means 1 Array 4 of 8  = 32 means 2 Array 5 of 8 = 33 means 3 Array 6 of 8 = 34 means 4 Array 7 of 8 = 35 means 5 Array 8 of 8 = D means CR    this sends the value of 12345 to Display ID 2 . need help to convert the decimal number in ascii. the decimal number will be max of 5 digits and less than 32000   any help will be greatly appreciated.
  20. Siemens Field PG M3 - PLC Programming Rugged Laptop for Sale   Condition is Used   This is a Siemens Field PG for PLC Programming.   Purchased several years ago as part of an auction lot and has sat in my workshop since, I don't do much Siemens so this is up for sale - This is what I know about it :-   The machine has Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit installed (Machine has Windows 7 Ultimate on the base but been upgraded at some point) 8GB ram installed It has a windows XP VM installed which runs the Siemens Programming software (Virtual Box) There is a folder on the desktop containing the original installation files, so would be easy to return back to the host machine if required. All software appears to be licensed (see pics)    Has Step 7 and Step 5 installed   Negatives - Missing the back flap & Battery not being recognised thus not taking on charge (I think this is a just BIOS update needed but not looked into it too much)   In very good overall condition, a few light marks but that's about it, still looks very good.   Comes with the original branded rucksack    This was a really expensive bit of kit in its day and still stands up as an excellent PLC programming machine   Open to sensible offers - I am located in the UK so worldwide postage will have to be calculated seperately   I have powered it up and it works well with no issues found, the PLC software all seems to work and appears fully licensed but as I am not the original owner and don't know the provenance of the machine or licenses this machine is sold with no returns or warranty provided.
  21. Hey everyone, I have a CJ1M PLC with a CJ1W-SCU21-V1 serial card. It is unit 6 and I am using port 1. I have bit 1659.06 ((1500 + 25 * Unit #) +9, bit 6) as "characters in buffer" but it never comes on (data is being received through the port successfully). It is on No-Protocol mode. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can detect data in the buffer?
  22. Serial comm with FX1N PLC

    I need to communicate with a Mitsubishi PLC using Matlab. To do that, I open a serial communication with the appropiate parameters (7,e,1,9600), and write an ASCII message based on the manual I have (attached). I have tried examples as the one in the attached image. The response starts with a 6, that is, the ASCII number for ACK, so something must be working. But the rest of the response is junk (149, 149, 149...), although its length depends on the input length (if I add terminator, the response is longer, and so on). I am completely stuck. Some information that might be helpful: I am using a Serial to USB converter that I have used successfully with other PLC (which used Modbus, so everything was easier) There's a VB application (of which I don't have the code) that is able to connect to the PLC (I need to connect directly without using this intermediate app). I have decompiled it trying to get some info, but was just able to confirm the 7,e,1,9600 parameters, since the rest of the code is too mangled to analyze The attached manual was sent to me by the guy who designed the PLC and its ladder code, so I guess it is the correct one I have tried the echo mode (TT) to no avail, response is always the same I have some doubts regarding the reading of a value (see attached image). Why is there a second message from the PC? Shouldn't I just need to read the response? GX Developer tells me that the address D8120 (which is supposed to define the comm format and protocol) contains a 0, which seems weird. Any help or hint would be greatly appreciated. 23. Hello Guys, I am very new to CIP messaging and in our project, we are trying to Controllogix to SCADA server using CIP messaging: What I understand from the process right now is : 1. SCADA Opens a connection for Large forward Open ( Connection size set at 2500 bytes) 2. PLC responds and establishes a connection 3. SCADA send an MSP request to access tags from PLC 4. PLC responds to this request The problem we are facing is the PLC doesn't send out a response of more than 240 bytes, Have any of you guys have faced a similar issue or can help me with troubleshooting?   Thanks in advance Attached screen captures from wire

  25. A little background information here, I am trying to create a moving average so I accomplished it with the code (imaged attached) The problem i am having is the AVE instruction error bit goes true. it leaved me with a result of 1.#QAN  I did some googling and it said this is typically done when dividing by zero?? so i added a NEQ to 0 prior to loading the array. then it happened again. so i put the error bit in front of the FFL so it will stop loading the array when i get the error bit so i can see what values are in the array when it errors out. Has anyone else had this issue and what could you do to resolve it? I haven't had any luck find something that points me in the right direction. Thanks in advance for your help.
