  1. Sorry for my bad english speaking. I want to change the baud rate to 19200,38400,.... for send it via Programmer-Serial-Port. The software GX-Developer can do it!. When the PLC is switched on, we generate a value in the data register D8116 and D8117. GX Developer reads the PLC type and data registers D8116 and D8117 at startup and generates a value. This value is written in D8118 and D8119. The big question is: how is D8118 and D8119 generated ??
  2. Siemens Field PG M3 - PLC Programming Rugged Laptop for Sale   Condition is Used   This is a Siemens Field PG for PLC Programming.   Purchased several years ago as part of an auction lot and has sat in my workshop since, I don't do much Siemens so this is up for sale - This is what I know about it :-   The machine has Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit installed (Machine has Windows 7 Ultimate on the base but been upgraded at some point) 8GB ram installed It has a windows XP VM installed which runs the Siemens Programming software (Virtual Box) There is a folder on the desktop containing the original installation files, so would be easy to return back to the host machine if required. All software appears to be licensed (see pics)    Has Step 7 and Step 5 installed   Negatives - Missing the back flap & Battery not being recognised thus not taking on charge (I think this is a just BIOS update needed but not looked into it too much)   In very good overall condition, a few light marks but that's about it, still looks very good.   Comes with the original branded rucksack    This was a really expensive bit of kit in its day and still stands up as an excellent PLC programming machine   Open to sensible offers - I am located in the UK so worldwide postage will have to be calculated seperately   I have powered it up and it works well with no issues found, the PLC software all seems to work and appears fully licensed but as I am not the original owner and don't know the provenance of the machine or licenses this machine is sold with no returns or warranty provided.
  3. Hello Guys, I am very new to CIP messaging and in our project, we are trying to Controllogix to SCADA server using CIP messaging: What I understand from the process right now is : 1. SCADA Opens a connection for Large forward Open ( Connection size set at 2500 bytes) 2. PLC responds and establishes a connection 3. SCADA send an MSP request to access tags from PLC 4. PLC responds to this request The problem we are facing is the PLC doesn't send out a response of more than 240 bytes, Have any of you guys have faced a similar issue or can help me with troubleshooting?   Thanks in advance Attached screen captures from wire

  5. AVE instruction Error

A little background information here, I am trying to create a moving average so I accomplished it with the code (imaged attached) The problem i am having is the AVE instruction error bit goes true. it leaved me with a result of 1.#QAN  I did some googling and it said this is typically done when dividing by zero?? so i added a NEQ to 0 prior to loading the array. then it happened again. so i put the error bit in front of the FFL so it will stop loading the array when i get the error bit so i can see what values are in the array when it errors out. Has anyone else had this issue and what could you do to resolve it? I haven't had any luck find something that points me in the right direction. Thanks in advance for your help.
  6. Hello guys, I am very new at this. Good Day. Someone could help me to convert following ST code to FBD? I can make a program in ST language. I am trying to figure out how FBD works.  IF Var_1 THEN Var_2:=true; Var_1:=false; END_IF; IF Var_3 THEN Var_2:=False; Var_3:=false; END_IF;     Note: Var_1 and Var_3 are controlling from PC through Modbus TCP.
  14. Hello. I am trying to make a serial RS 232C connection between Schneider Magelis HMIGXU3512 and Omron PLC CP1E. However, there seems to be a communication problems between both of the equipment. I am using cable XBT Z9740 for the serial communication cable. The format used is 8.2.N for both equipment. The baud rate is 115200. No Flow Rate is choose. Anyone can help with this kind of problems?
  15. Hi! I have a question about programming. I want to place an input (X01) on the left vertical line, to allow the rest of the program running by an external switch. How can I place an input like that? I work on Gx works2 and using an Fx3g Plc (I used it once, but i can't find that program.)
  16. Connect PLC to Kepserver

I have Delta 12SA2 PLC it has RS232 port and I have connected it to kepserver (by Modbus serial) and then factory IO Now my problem is that when I connect my PLC to kepserver the RS232 port becomes busy with the kepserver and not available in the ISPSoft and therefore I could not demonstrate factory io and my logic in run mode in the isp soft together like you do in your videos. My PLC don't have ethernet port but is there an option in kepserver or any way by which i can use the same serial port of the PLC in isp soft run mode and kepserver+factory io together so that I can simultaneously show the logic running in isp soft and application working in factory io to my students. I googled a lot and found some softwares which make virtual serial ports for a given serial port but they don't work and soon hang Please help me I am in a great need of it. Thanks in advance.

  18. Hello, I have been so many days trying to comunicate the multiway software trought a serial usb converter with the SCU31 device, using a omron function block to read a holding register, but I can't achieved it. Now Im receiving some frames on multiway, but there is always some errors. I was wondering if somebody in here that have worked previously with modbus and omron can be able to help me in how to configure everything corectly to be able to read the value from multiway, on the plc, and where is this value saved.  I'll upload some captures to show what I have done till now.

  22. CJ1M serial communication

Hi! I would like to know how I could send information throw serial RS232 communication. I mean, I have CJ1M-CPU11 connected with ID232 and OC201 modules, and I have an optic sensor (digital input). When the sensor turn on, I would like to be able to read the information (on/off) with an application like Putty (I have the PLC connected by RS232) to develop an application and show the information on another framework. I don't know if I have explained very well. Thank you!
  23. HI ,  Thanks a lot for the reply & help on previous topic. Now i setting up a new system with 2x CJ2M CPU13  and 2x SCU32 and the connection via 1000M RS485 cable. May i know the best communication to use for the serial communications?   Regards, TJ SHARON.
  24. Good day. I'm using 1756 L71S GuardLogix Integrated Safety Controller with Studio 5000 v28. My controller is connected to a third party software through ethernet connection, it simulates my project hardware and provides all the signals to my PLC. To know all the hardware signallocation at PLC memory, it uses a Tag export file provided by Studio 5000. In other PLCs, when you declare a variable as hardware input, you have to select in which address from the memory you want this input to be read, something like "Bit Input 0.0". But in AB this step is skipped, that is all addresses are managed by Studio5000 and hidden from the user. Is there any configuration at Studio 5000 that let me assign or at least see this addresses? Normally I would prefer my tags addresses to be hidden, but in this specific case it is more useful to know memory addresses.
  25. I have a Modicon NOM0200 unit connected to an access switch to send commands to various rs-232 devices. The Access switch requires a "disconnect string" to end communication with a particular port. The disconnect string is "CRTL+D", how can I send a "CRTL" keystroke from the NOM0200 unit? I know for carriage return it is "$R" is their a similar combination I can enter for "CTRL"?
