  2.   In this first picture is a numerical input with a monitor device D2058. In the whole GOT project this is the only device that saves the information inputed.   Then on que PLC sequence theres an instruction moving that device's value gotten from the GOT to the position module's buffer memory. My doubt comes when there's another device D10022Z9 getting the same value of D2058. In this case the Z9 index is always 0, I checked. In the whole PLC program this is the only part where the D10022Z9 appears, there is no instruction anywhere copying D2058 to D10022Z9 which is how I would think is the way it has the same data always. Am I missing something or how is this possible?

  6. I am needing some help developing a string, and setting up communications that will be interpreted by a printer. I have thus developed my string, setup my com ports on my 1766 micrologix and setup com ports on my schmidt styliner scribing printer with win7e. Essentially this is plc to computer running software for a printer. the software has been setup to the best of my knowledge. My problem is creating a string that will be recognized as start/stop transmission at the printer. I have never done ascii so I am unfamiliar with how to get the two components talking. This is a simple application that only requires writing a string to the printer, but i have tried all that i can without any luck.
  7. Hi all, Quick question about adding ENET modules to a plc. If I have a local network of a HMI, PLC and 1 device all on IP 192.168.255.x and I have another device across the plant with an address of 171.27.19.x, can I add that one device to the PLC and it will recognize it? Is there a way to add a device with a totally different IP address to a PLC that is already set up?
  8. I have a CP1L by Omron and a barcode reader by Honerwell. I want to activate the serial port 1, to connect it with the reader. The reader shoul read one of the 2 main barcodes. If the reader get the barcode 1, then it should read 3 times the barcode A and activate an output; but if it read the barcode 2, it should read 3 times the barcode B, and also activate an output. I want made my programm in ladder programation, How I can activate the serial port 1? How I set the the serial port 1 as an input to the function block RXDU? How works the FB RXDU? How I can set the codes? How I set the fb RXDU as an output?
  9. CJ1W-TC001 PID question

What is Omron naming convention for PID settings? I need to adjust the upper MV limits for PID running on CJ1W-TC001 installed on CJ1M-CPU13. Looking at the CJ1W-TC001 Operation Manual I am not really sure which values would these be. I guess Omron naming nomenclature is a bit different than what I am used to. It seems that the Manipulated Value Monitor is just feedback, which value would I need to set or modify to adjust the upper MV limit?

  11. I wish to send a temperature set-point from an Allen-Bradley SLC 5/05 (Ethernet) PLC to a water temperature controller and read back the actual value. [ PLC ]<---------->[ Temperature Controller ] The temperature controller RS485 comms supports protocols for moulding machines from Arburg, Battenfeld, Billion, Demag, Dr. Boy, Engel, Frech, Husky, KraussMaffei, Netstal, Sumitomo, Toyo and ‘Spezial’. They have given me the details for Engel’s Interface Protocol P2 which is 8-bit ASCII. Question: What's my best option for this? Buy a BASIC module? [ PLC ] [bASIC]<---serial------->[ Temperature Controller ] Use the serial programming port directly? [ PLC ]<---serial------->[ Temperature Controller ] Use an Ethernet message to some external programmable serial server? [ PLC ]<----Ethernet---->[serial Server]<---serial--->[ Temperature Controller ] I've modified and debugged A-B PLC code but I'm not very familiar with their hardware. Many thanks.
  12. Hiya Guys, New here (first post!) - and I'm fairly new to Connected Components Workbench, so apologies for the mammoth post! I am currently developing a System using one Micro850 PLC and one PanelView C600 HMI. I am able to update the current HMI time by sending Unsigned-Integers to Global Connection Tags: System Clock – Hour ($SysClockHour);System Clock – Minute ($SysClockMinute);System Clock – Second ($SysClockSecond); However, if using the same “update time” more than once, this method does not work as the HMI is looking for a “change” in a Tag before an update occurs (Tag-specific). For example, we require to be able to receive a “synchronisation signal” on a digital-input on the PLC each day at 15:00:00. This will only work once as, even though the HMI’s current time updates every second, I will still be sending the values “15”, “0”, and “0” to the above Tags (which will therefore not force an update – as they haven’t changed). I cannot reset these Tags without updating the current Time – as any number “out of range” causes an error (incidentally the errors are shown on the HMI to occur on Tags “SysClockSecondTimed”, “SysClockMinuteTimed”, and “SysClockHour” – note the omission of the word “Timed” on the Hours error…). There appears to be no reference to these “Timed” Tags anywhere in CCW, and I have no idea why the “Hour” update errors on a different (the correct?!) Tag. It’s a pretty confusing problem and difficult to explain… it took me a while to get my head around it – and I can see what the code is doing! J I've looked for documentation on how these Global Connection Tags work, but I can't find anything. Everything I (think I) know so far is from extensive testing... so if anyone knows of any documentation, or has any suggestions as to how I can achieve the required result - that would be massively helpful! Thanks for taking the time to read all this! Cheers, Steve.
  13. Hi All, I have problem about programming serial module Mitsubishi PLC using QJ71C24N. If I unconnect the cable from the module and connect again it show SIO error and the communication become lost or not sending data again. so i have to restart the PLC to make it normal again. Any other solution for solve this error without restart the PLC? Thanks Husanto
  14. PLC Integration by SCADA

Hello Experts, Good day to you all. I just can’t figure how I will integrate five S7-300 PLC. CPU 315-2dp. (1.Blow moulding-> 2. filler-> 3. labeller-> 4. packer-> 5. Palletizer) I just want to get the speed of its machine, the output rate and the alarm, this is purely monitoring, archiving, no need to control anything here. I planning about SCADA system. I’m thinking if I could do the same way in my previous project, which I’ve done in profibus master/slave for two s7-300. But this time the five PLC’s already set the profibus as master to the danfoss drive, sew drives, ET200s and many more profibus slave. I plan to buy 1 PLC as master and I will set all as slave, but how since all the five existing PLC, its profibus already configured as master. Thank you very much. All your inputs is really appreciated.
  15. Hello all, I am experiencing an unusual (and what appears to be an unheard of) behavior in my CompactLogix L18ER controller. I am setting the date/time of the controller from my work station, however when I GSV WallClockTime, it is reporting 4 hours different. I have asked our local resources as well as done some forum and knowledgebase searching without result. Has anyone encountered this before? Attached is a screenshot of the controller time vs. the wall clock time. This isn't mission critical since it can be manually adjusted however I would like to understand what is taking place that would cause this behavior. Thanks!
  16. Motoman Support

I have a project that currently has a PC using C++ to send commands over to a Motoman Robot for palletizing. My customer wants to get rid of the PC since no one on the plant floor can troubleshoot if the PC goes down. They're asking that I put a PLC in in lieu of the PC, and control from there. The PLC and respective code is no problem, where I'm stuck is gathering info on what protocol I can use on the Motoman. My goal is to make the Motoman as "dumb" as possible and control everything from the PLC. Can anyone tell me what protocol I can use with the Motoman, details below: Robot Type: EPL80Controller Type: NX100Software Version: NS4.02 A(JP/US)-00

Hello guys, actually I am new to this Omron PLC. but i have small project to transmit a command to the GSM modem via the RS232 port so it can trigger the modem to send text msg. Can you show me the steps/guide/sample program to accomplish this program coding? I already read some topic in this forum regarding to this PLC RS232 port but still cant get the ideas when to create the ladder program. PLC Type : CJ1H (CPU65H) - RS232 port First input to trigger the GSM send text msg: AT+CMGS="+YOUR HP NUMBER" Second input to trigger GSM send text msg: YOUR TEXT MSG CONTAINS (Ctrl+z to send) Many Thanks, AlexB
  18. ModbusRTUdemos.zip

    Version

    601 downloads

There are two Proficy ME projects in the zip file one for VersaMax and one setup for 90-30 CPU364 but is the same for all of the 90-30 processors, but read the Manual GFK-2220 to get the correct port information for your CPU and configuration. They are both working and well documented. They were done quite a while ago but I do not recall what version of PME is needed to open them. It is my recommendation that we all use the latest version. Good luck and have fun with it. R~ <))>(

  20. Need Logic

Hi everyone, I want to develop a logic for security alert system. I have to generate an alarm at irregular time intervals. No one should know the time interval. PLC has to give a digital output at any time. How to create this logic? Regards Joshua
  21. Hey guys. New to the forum and new to plcs. I am running into problems quick, fast and in a hurry. Please be patient. I have created a new project. I have added module 1756 ENBT because that is what I will be connected to. On the chassis there is another ether net card which runs to a switch. That switch runs to a 1734 aent card. I have added this module, 1734 aent, as well to my project. Now I must add a 1734 IB8S and a 1734 OB8S. These are not appearing in my list. I proceeded to download and install these add on profiles. After installation, however, I can still not select the I/O modules. Why is that? And how do I fix it? Thanks in advance, HotPie
  22. Hi, I have a problem with my BC9020 and hope that someone can help me. I managed to set the IP adress of my PLC in the 10.2.5... add a root, run a program and make the PLC working for a while. I then tried another program, a new one... and now that I want to re-read the first program, Twincat System Manager doesn't allow me to enter in the "run mode" and stays in "config mode". It also has lost the IP address I set (10.2.5.....) and came back to the 172.16.22... (manufacturer settings) I cannot determine if the problem is in the PLC Control or In System Manager... This is my method to change the IP *** IP config *** 1) Reset the PLC First I place the end terminal next to the PLC. I set the DIP switches 1,6,7 to ON, power on the PLC and power off. I set the DIP switches 2,6,7 to ON, power on the PLC and power off. I set the DIP switches 1,2,6,7 to ON, power on the PLC and power off. 2) Set my PLC on the same AMS than my own IP (172.16.22...1.1) 3) In System Manager, add a new route 4) change the setting in I/O Configuration -> I/O Device -> Device 2(BX9000) -> clic on BX9000 define "set IP Address" to Manual define " IP Address" to 10.2.5...., the AMS change automatically. Press the configuration button and then Ctrl+F4 (run mode) This method worked but seems not to be the best... If you have any Ideas ? or questions? Thank you in advance Gregi
