  1. Hello guys, I am very new at this. I am trying to make a Schneider PLC (TM251MESE) to send some serial commands (485)  to a integrated stepper motor from Automation Direct (STR-MTRD-17030RE, but I am lost. The driver has been program to receive the SCL commands. But not quite sure how to send those from the plc. Im using SoMachine V 4.2 Have any of you done anything similar? Any example will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

    Dear sir, I am working in container terminal, we have Siemens plc  s7-300 , Bromma spreader with SCS-3( codesys software) spreader field device sensor (ifm) connected to slave ifm CR9011, now a days we are facing too much issues in scs-3 so we planned for isolate the SCS-3 but we want to know ifm module Cr9011 how to communicate to Siemens plc  7 how to write in hardware configuration. can you please suggest us.  
  3. Still learning Sysmac Studio......how do I gain access to System Variables like 'PageIndex" so my PLC can be notified what Page the HMI is on?  Also, how can I execute an 'Acknowledge All' from the PLC so I can reset the 'Alarm Viewer Popup' from my PLC? Thanks,

  6. Hi Every one, I have two 2198-P070 bus power supplies for that I’m using for four Kinetix drives, 2 drives per power supply, all controlled by one processor (5069-L350ERMS2). I have an enable contactor setup for each power supply for each set of drives. I have them configured as DC bus groups 1 and 2 respectively. I had the first set of drives working, setup inside the motion group, with no issues. When I added the second power supply and drives. I found that when I added them to the motion group I couldn’t get the enable contactor to close for the first set of drives. I f I took them out of the motion group and made them ungrouped then the first contactor would close but then I couldn’t get the contactor on the second set to close. Do you have any thoughts as to what I might be missing to get these to work? See the screen shots for more detail. Let me know what you think.  Also, I have heard that only one motion group is allowed per PLC, but my question is : Can I use  sevral axes and Power units in the same motion group?

  8. CP1L-EL TCP/IP with VideoJet Printer

    Hello, My previous topic was want to establish communication CP1E --> Videojeet Printer using RS232 serial cable. this project test SUCCESS. by the way distance from printer and PLC was very far almost 500meter. so printer technical team request to use tcp communication using cat5e cable. Problem: 1. I'm using TCP communication protocol that need me to have open,send,receive,close port. 2. Communication testing with PC Hyper Terminal --> OK but HT need in waiting call mode, i don't know why. 3. Using printer no result show. how i'm suppose to know communication already establish? 4. Communication setting on PLC Setting-Built in Enthernet need to add other communication device.? here i'm share some programs to give more understanding. Thanksm TCP with printer.cxp
  9. Hello. I am trying to make a serial RS 232C connection between Schneider Magelis HMIGXU3512 and Omron PLC CP1E. However, there seems to be a communication problems between both of the equipment. I am using cable XBT Z9740 for the serial communication cable. The format used is 8.2.N for both equipment. The baud rate is 115200. No Flow Rate is choose. Anyone can help with this kind of problems?
  10. Connect PLC to Kepserver

    I have Delta 12SA2 PLC it has RS232 port and I have connected it to kepserver (by Modbus serial) and then factory IO Now my problem is that when I connect my PLC to kepserver the RS232 port becomes busy with the kepserver and not available in the ISPSoft and therefore I could not demonstrate factory io and my logic in run mode in the isp soft together like you do in your videos. My PLC don't have ethernet port but is there an option in kepserver or any way by which i can use the same serial port of the PLC in isp soft run mode and kepserver+factory io together so that I can simultaneously show the logic running in isp soft and application working in factory io to my students. I googled a lot and found some softwares which make virtual serial ports for a given serial port but they don't work and soon hang Please help me I am in a great need of it. Thanks in advance.
  11. Hi All, Am trying to communicate and make In-Sight bar code reader to trigger through MicroLogix 1100 with RSLogix 500.  Does any have any info as to the steps to follow. Most of the info I saw and have tried were for SLC processor In fact, I created the String file ST10:0  for the target device as was mentioned in one of the posts but when I complied it there was error saying that St10:0 was not supported by the module. Please see attached file. Any insight will be appreciated  
  12. LOCAL MELSEC COMMAND

    Hi everybody,  Is it possible to send MELSEC commands to oneself, locally, not using the phiysical ports? I would like to use some commands described in the "Communication_Protocol_Reference_Manual_(MELSEC)" to get some self-management functions in my PLC.  For example, in OMRON this is possible using CMND instruction and setting the FINS address to 0.0.0 in the parameters of the instruction. Hello, I have been so many days trying to comunicate the multiway software trought a serial usb converter with the SCU31 device, using a omron function block to read a holding register, but I can't achieved it. Now Im receiving some frames on multiway, but there is always some errors. I was wondering if somebody in here that have worked previously with modbus and omron can be able to help me in how to configure everything corectly to be able to read the value from multiway, on the plc, and where is this value saved.  I'll upload some captures to show what I have done till now.

Hi Im hoping someone can help me out! i have a PLC SLC 5/03 and i want to connect the DB9 port with DH485 protocol to a computer 100 fts from there, is there any problem with the distance? and what kind of cable should i use , i already connected with my laptop with a USB-serial with a null modem cable RS232  (i did the cable by my self) but for the distance i cannot keep using that protocol so what is the recommendation?

  19. Hi all,  I am trying to update the firmware of a NS12-TS01B-V2. I have downloaded the RecoverUpdate_8_95.exe (and someothers) from the myomron website. I have followed the instrucctions PDF, but when I switch on the HMI with the Compact Flash inserted, nothing happens: the screen is dark and the led is lit orange (not blinking).  The compact flash is 1GB (not omron) and formated using a CJ2. I have been using this card in OMRON PLCs and HMIs for years without problems.  I read in other topic than I guy had similar problems and he solved it using other computer and other unzipper program. I have tried it, but it did not work.  After that, I tried to update it using the DIP switches, but I got more problems, because I got a Warning first, and later an Error, because I forced the installation of the Firmware of the NS8 (BANK1) instead of the NS12. However, the other BANK folder contains the FW for the NS5... Anyway, I could fix this error because previously I did a backup of the already installed system (V7.0). I would like to ask you to send me a BackUp of another NS12, using the "Manual Transfer", that should works. I need the 8.20 version or higher.  Thanks a lot.  My email is hector.moreno.lax@gmail.com

    Is it possible to view the values / states of all inputs, outputs and workbits (e.g. 64.00 through 64.15 on Omron CQM1 PLC) on a single screen or control panel within CX-Programmer software?  I'm trying to troubleshoot some ladder logic that I wrote and need to know the values of 5 or 6 inputs/outputs/workbits simultaneously.  Having to scroll up and down through my ladder logic repeatedly does not work well with code that changes state every 5-10 seconds or so. Any help is welcome.
  21. Hello  We have just purchased some equipment with a Control Logix 5561 (1756-L61/B Rev 13.40). The compact flash card is missing from the unit but the seller says the unit was running in his facility prior to shipping. Does the 5561 have internal memory where a program is stored? Is the Compact Flash used only for recipes and persistent data? Thank you
  22. IC220PNS001

    Hello, I currently have two IC220PNS001 connected to IC695PNC001. The PLC being used is IC695CPE330. Out of the two PNS001, one of them has a solid SF Red light on which means bus error according to the Status Parameter IO. I disconnect every single IC220 card connected and downloaded the whole configuration but I still have a Bus error.  PS: I have also tried to switch the PNS001 with the brand new out of the box and I still have the same error. In the manual, it says Profinet Diagnostic available, can somebody please guide me as to where I can find the Profinet Diagnostic, also is there any manual for PNS001 which explains the in-depth debugging process for this PROFINET Controller.  
  23. Hello At first - sorry for my bad english. I have a FX2N-48MR with a FX2N-232IF and i only want to watch the X and set the Y over RS232 with a Crestron Contolunit. I use GX Developer 8 on a XP Laptop and figure slowly out how it works. I read the manuals i found, managed to send from the PLC to the Serial Program on my Laptop (Program named HTerm) But i do not figured out the sending. Can you give me some hint?   Greetings FT

    Hi! I would like to know how I could send information throw serial RS232 communication. I mean, I have CJ1M-CPU11 connected with ID232 and OC201 modules, and I have an optic sensor (digital input). When the sensor turn on, I would like to be able to read the information (on/off) with an application like Putty (I have the PLC connected by RS232) to develop an application and show the information on another framework. I don't know if I have explained very well. Thank you!
  25. Logic to control many motors

    Hi everyone, I trying to develop a logic to control 6 motors. Two motors needs to working and four motor will be in stand by. When one of the two motors fail, one of the four motors will start to work. Another rule is, when one of the motors that is working reach the preset time of working, the controller will stop that motor and start another motor with low working time, and so on. I'm have difficult to solve this problem. Can someone help me, please? Best, R.
