  1. Until recently, I haven't had to connect to a piece of hardware using a serial connection in quite sometime. Well, that all changed yesterday when I needed to connect to a Watlow F4T Controller. I dug around in the bottle drawer of my desk and pulled at not one, but two USB-Serial Converters that I saved for just such an occasion! My old ones worked on everything from Allen Bradley SLCs, to Schneider Drives. Unfortunately, neither appear to work in a Windows 10 environment. Searching the internet, I was not able to find any drivers for these old converters, but did find some posts in another forum stating that Microsoft changed how it manages its USB ports from Win 7 to Win 10. Thanks Microsoft! Sorry, I will cut this rant short and just ask my question. Can anyone recommend a USB-Serial Converter that works in a Windows 10/11 environment?  Respectfully, Shane

  3. Hi! I am using a Ethernet/IP and a Brainbox ED-588 as a gateway to a PLC that has 8 in and 8 out Digital IOs. In order to interface with other types of PLCs I am looking for a gateway that has 16in and 16out digital I/Os I have also been asked to work with NPN output, not PNP. This can be achieved using yet another component, but if possible I would like the gateway to be configurable with NPN/PNP output. N.B. The orignial protocol doesn't even have to be Ethernet/IP, I might be able to work with other protocols as the source. Products that I found do not have enough IOs   Thanks!

  6. I'm trying to connect a 2711-K5A8L1 FRN 3.13 PanelView 550 (DH+ three wire connector) to a 1747-L553 SER C REV C (RS232 and ENET). I read that I may need FRN 3.3 on the PanelView 550 to do a passthrough. This will be a dedicated connection with no other devices. The PanelView 550 has only the three wire DH+ connector and an RS232 printer port. I was trying to connect PanelBuilder 32 to the RS232 port and may only have PRINT and DOWNLOAD capability on this port. Is there an inexpensive way to connect the PanelView 550 and the PLC CPU? Something like the 1761-NET-AIC would be fine, but I did not see an option for DH+  .
