  1. Hi, How can I communicate Codesys and Intouch. Can you help me.
  2. Hi. what i've gathered, i need an EDS-file for the siemens s7-1200-system to be able to specify an ethernet connection in sysmac from the omron plc side to connect to the siemens ethernet/ip server. Anyone know where or how to get an EDS file for the siemens plc so i can import it into EIPprofiles in sysmac?
  3. GOT2000 <-> Omron CJ PLC

I have an application where I'm using GOT2000 to read data from the weighing unit using RS232 and I send this value to Omron CJ2M through Ethernet/IP. Some variables from that PLC are connected to the elements of the HMI. The problem is when writing the weight value to the PLC through script or Data Transfer is disabled, the RS232 reading works fine, it's fast, etc. However, when I enable the script which writes data to the PLC, the RS232 slows down by a lot, like it refreshes every 2-3 seconds. If i set the script to execute like every 1-2 seconds, it is working better (still slower compared to when the script is disabled) but I cannot leave it like this, because the weight is used to control some valves, pumps, etc. Enabling script doesn't slow down normal communication with PLC, because I tried to test it by displaying the value of seconds from PLC on the HMI and it refreshes every second. Does anyone have idea why such tiny script causes so many problems with RS232?
  4. I'm trying to exchange some data between two controllers. I've used a manual which describes Tag Datalink communication. Everything works fine on the Bradley side, which means I can read values from Omron without problems. However, on the CJ it isn't working. In the Network Configurator I get error every 10 sec (Tag data ling error, code 03D5) and cannot read any data from AB. When I open Connection Structure Tree I see that the input tagset from AB has 'Broken path (0000000000000)' and Unknown Device right next to IP address. I've tried using EDS from the Rockwell as well as uploading it from AB PLC directly - I don't know if it might be EDS issue. The only thing I noticed that inside CJ2M-EIP21 EDS it says that Ethernet/IP is Class 1 connection, however in the 1769-L35E EDS Ethernet/IP is Class 2 connection. Have anyone ever had such a problem?
  5. Hi all,  I am trying to modify the date and time of several PLCs from other PLC. Them are all CJ2M, and they are all in the same ethernet network (192.168.100.xx) and in the same FINS network (#1). I am doing it using the FINS command 07 02 ("CLOCK WRITE") with the CMND2 instruction. It is not working entirely: the clock time is being modified at the specified node; however, I do not get the FINS response (expected 07 02 00 00). If I modify the number of retries of the CMND2, the command is repeated all the specified retries though the clock was already written on the first try.  The D+0 and D+1 (response channels) are always #0; nevertheless, the I+1 ("Communication Completion Code" channel) allways receives #205. Acording to the manuals, this code is for "Response Timeout". I have tested it with 10 retries and with 10.0 seconds of monitoring response time, but it is working in the same way: the clock is modified fast enough, but I am not getting the FINS Response and the I+0.00 bit is ON after 100 seconds...  I have been also doing tests with the OMRON's Etherway Software, sending the same FINS command, and here I am getting the response properly. (???) I would say the FINS network was set-up correctly. All the PLC were set in network #1 with Cx-Integrator. In fact, they are currently sharing several channels using the SEND command on this network #1. I don't know what I am not doing right... Any idea?  The ladder is attached as .cxp and as .png. Thanks a lot.  Best regards.  CLOCK_WRITE.cxp
  6. Has anyone have any experience getting a Wieland Safety plc (SP-COP1-ENI) communicate with an Omron Plc (NX102) via Ethernet/IP? EDS file installed, connection is set as per the documentation yet  I cannot get it connected.
  7. Hello, everyone! I am following this YouTube tutorial where it teaches you how to add a block of Modbus server within Studio 5000 for communication with plc ControlLogix. The video: https://youtu.be/qcF4m7rPjkw However, according to a comment from the author of the video himself in my comment I can make such a connection through a Modbus device. How do I do this within ur5 and how can i access UR5 inside Studio 5000?
  8. I am converting a multple rack SLC project to CLX and as a fist step I have to keep the SLC racks while converting to CLX processor. There is an existing CLX rack with 1756-DHRIO card talking to other SLC over DH+ and i thought it would be fairly simple to connect all the 8 SLC racks via the RIO channel. Except the first rack has 2 extensions with zero spare slots, where i was considering 3 x 1747-ASB, now can I use single ASB in slot 0 where SLC resided to connect to all 3? Same with another rack already on RIO, the first rack has ASB installed but the extension has no spare slots. The documentation I have suggests I can only address 8x 16 bit cards on each rack, or have i got that wrong, most of my cards are IB16 or OB16, just the very first rack has analogs. Is the 1756-RIO card any better at addressing 25x 16 way cards as 1 rack
  9. Error **03 Special Parameter Error

Hello I have a problem whit PLC mitsubishi FX3U thernet communication, we have a module  FX3u-ENET-ADP. and we have the error "**03 Special Parameter Error".
  10. Hi! I hope you could help me with the problem I've been having with this HMI. Usually I use the Instruction-based alarms (ALMD) in the program of my PLC Controller (ControlLogix 5580) to be able to send Alarm Messages to my View Designer Panel View. However, on this new HMI I'm getting the alarm trigger on the Panelview (I get the prompt on the Alarm Summary, and get the Alarm TAG of the ALMD Instruction associated with the alarm), but for some reason the Alarm Message is on blank. It´s the same for all the alarms on the controller. I checked again and the "Message" parameter of the ALMD is configurated, and even test just typing "a" as an Alarm Message to see if it was that the string was too long, but even with that the message didn't show up. Can you help me understand what I'm doing wrong?

  14. Hello All, I would like to control Powerflex 525 drive with Omron NJ301-1200 PLC via Ethernet/IP (Set speed, start, stop). I've gotten until the part where I downloaded the necessary .eds files of the drive and imported into my Sysmac studio. However, I'm stuck after this point while assigning target variables and Originator variables and eventually setting speed and controlling the vfd. I've attached images for your reference.
  15. I am trying to POST API to a meter in Maximo using a socket in a 5069-L320 controller. I am able to successfully create and open the socket. The write and read instructions get the DN bit but I do not see the meter updating in Maximo. I was able POST successfully using Postman, so I know I am sending the correct information. Do I need to be formatting the POST differently? I'm not getting errors so don't have a direction to go from here. (I will fix the obvious username and password vulnerability, one step at a time) Thanks
  16. I'm trying to understand the basics of using a serial to ethernet converter such as this Comtrol DM-EIP-2101, with Studio5000 code. Basically I have a weighing machine that only outputs data via RS-232 and I need to send that data to a PC that will process it through a Studio5000 program and have the data displayed on an HMI using FTview SE. Is it as simple as just connecting the serial and ethernet to the converter and it does all the work? Obviously checking ip addresses and firmware will need to be verified. The main thing I am unsure of is the process of passing the individual data packets from the machine to the Logix code on the PC,  things like what the weight of the item was, was it over weight or under, etc....  Would there be an AOI or tags built into the software for a machine like this Checkweigher? I've worked with much smaller items like Cognex Dataman cameras and I know you can just use their AOI that allows you to simply call a tag if you want to display information like if a scanned barcode was correct or whatever. If anyone has done something similar I'd appreciate any guidance. It can be difficult getting the information from the manufactures so I'm looking for answers anywhere I can. EDIT: I guess I should also clarify that only using one or the other (serial or E/IP) is not an option. It will be a serial connection from the Weighing machine to the converter and then Ethernet to the PC.
  17. I'm trying to set up an Ethernet/IP communication with a CIP block between a Micro850 and a SMC EX600-sen3 pneumatic Module. I can read the inputs of the module with the configuration below, but I CANT write to SET or RESET the digital outputs. There are NO errors showing communications issues in the CIP Generic Block I am using... I read that for some reason, it seems that there are problems with writing thru Ethernet/IP protocol between Micro family and other devices not from Rockwell... Does anyone know if there is a way to make it work? Configuration that is working to READ: CIP Service Code:     14 CIP Class ID:         4 CIP Instance ID:     100 CIP Attribute:         3 CIP Member ID:         0 Configuration that is NOT working to WRITE: CIP Service Code:     16 CIP Class ID:         4 CIP Instance ID:     150 CIP Attribute:         3 CIP Member ID:         0

  20. HOSTLink read multiple DMs

Hello,    I am using Hostlink protocol to read data from PLC units. for example @00RD22220001..., will return DM2222's value. But I want to know, if I could read multiple DM values at the same time. for example: DM2222, DM3000, DM4000, reading these DMs with one communication. Please note that these are not continuous DM areas. I know a sequence of DMs can be read by specifying starting address and count.   Many thanks in advance.   Ting
  21. I have a bit of an issue with communication between GOT1000 HMI (I think the exact model is GOT1675V) and Q03UDE PLC over Ethernet. The GOT is set to 192.168.1.4 and PLC is set to 192.168.1.2 but I get the error "Communication Error. Refer to System Alarm in Utility Menu". Now how do I access the utility menu? I have tried to tap and hold on the upper corners of the HMI but nothing happens. I also can not switch between screens when I press buttons even though they are directly linked via screen #. Almost like the HMI froze up. Wonder if anyone had similar issue and what the solution might be. Thanks for your help.
  22. Here is a post that we recently completed on the Automation Direct USB to RS485 Adapter.  The USB-485M is a 2-wire USB to RS-485 serial communication adapter for RS485 use. It does not require an external power supply or complicated configuration. It has a Type A (plug) USB connector for the computer side and a universal female RJ45/RJ12 modular connector. This will accept RJ12 and RJ45 plugs.  The USB-485M supports multiple baud rates and is USB V2.0 Compliant. Read the rest of the post... 24. Good Morning,   My name is Joseph Rhodes, I work as an electronic technician for the City of Tuscaloosa at the wastewater treatment plant. I work to keep the plant up and running as well as 64 lift stations spread out around Tuscaloosa, Alabama. A majority of our lift stations utilize Verizon Cell Modems, RV50s to be exact. It's rather easy connecting remotely to these lift stations as I can configure a driver as an ethernet / ip driver then associate an IP of that lift station (ex. 10.181.3.104 is lift station 104, 10.181.3.105 is lift station 105, etc). However, for the lift stations that do not utilize cell modems. We use GE MDS 9710 and 9810 radios. It is these lift stations that I have yet to figure out a way to connect remotely to the LS RTU PLC. All of our lift stations use Allen Bradley MicroLogix 1200s or 1400s. These lift stations that use the MDS radios communicate information to water tanks then that information is sent back through other channels. I was wondering is there a way to associate these lift stations on RSLinx that use GE MDS radios ?
  25. Hi! I would like to ask your help. I want to know more about the communcation systems what allen bradley use. Most important for me, is Ethernet IP communication, Controlnet communication, Sercos (servo) communication, maybe devicenet communication.  I know I can find some manulas on the web, but I thought I ask it here too, maybe you guys have some more documents which is contain more information. Every information is highly appreciated. Thank you very much guys.
