  2. Siemens Field PG M3 - PLC Programming Rugged Laptop for Sale   Condition is Used   This is a Siemens Field PG for PLC Programming.   Purchased several years ago as part of an auction lot and has sat in my workshop since, I don't do much Siemens so this is up for sale - This is what I know about it :-   The machine has Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit installed (Machine has Windows 7 Ultimate on the base but been upgraded at some point) 8GB ram installed It has a windows XP VM installed which runs the Siemens Programming software (Virtual Box) There is a folder on the desktop containing the original installation files, so would be easy to return back to the host machine if required. All software appears to be licensed (see pics)    Has Step 7 and Step 5 installed   Negatives - Missing the back flap & Battery not being recognised thus not taking on charge (I think this is a just BIOS update needed but not looked into it too much)   In very good overall condition, a few light marks but that's about it, still looks very good.   Comes with the original branded rucksack    This was a really expensive bit of kit in its day and still stands up as an excellent PLC programming machine   Open to sensible offers - I am located in the UK so worldwide postage will have to be calculated seperately   I have powered it up and it works well with no issues found, the PLC software all seems to work and appears fully licensed but as I am not the original owner and don't know the provenance of the machine or licenses this machine is sold with no returns or warranty provided.
  3. Omron CJ1M CPU11 - ProfiNet - Siemens

Hello guys, newbie here. Wait, where are you all going...? Don't go! I've got *some* experience. And a job on my hands. I've got an Omron CJ1M with a CPU11. Attached, is a PNT21 Profinet IOController. At the other end, it is going to be a Siemens SIMATIC ET 200AL, PROFINET interface module IM 157-1 PN with a couple of digital input and output modules attached. The hardware isn't here yet, otherwise I'd just jump straight into trouble. Probably. I've got it mostly setup in ConfiguratorFDT with the GSD files from Siemens. The question: How do I map the Symbols to the digital IO at the other end of the profinet? Can I just set the symbol address to the IO areas that ConfiguratorFDT show me, ie, 3300 for the inputs, etc? Thanks!
  4. i am trying to communication my weintek HMI with Siemens Energy Meter PAC3200. I am using MODBUS TCP/IP Protocol but i am unable to read the data register of my energy meter. Somehow i got to read the 32bit data register but still unable to read the 64bit data register of my total KWHr Energy consumption. I have also attached the manual of my energy meter. Please guide how to read all the data registers of that energy meter. Please see the page 40 onwards for reference. The manual the about 7MB so i cannot attach the file. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/attachments/26504150/A5E01168664B-04_EN-US_122016_201612221316360495.pdf

  6. Siemens Simatic S7-1200 component selection

Hi,  I am designing measurement devices and i intend to use Simatic S7-1200 as PLC for my new device. The problem is, my background is nothing close the electric and I am having quite a lot troubles when it comes to select components, I do not know how can I select components that are compatible with the PLC i am going to use.  Pressure sensor, humidity sensor shall be selected and which parameters I should be careful about? I read somewhere 24VDC supply voltage is needed. Is it needed even the device has digital output or is it for analog output only? How do I make sure about the communication interface? For some devices it says I2C, is that compatible with S7-1200? or do i need a special communication module for each component? Then it will be super expensive.  I would appreciate any answer.
  7. Connection cable for Sinumerik810

Hi, I am trying to connect my M2 pg with a Sunumerik 810 cnc.    does anyone have the part number or pin out of the 25 pin-25pin tty cable that’s needed for this.    thanks
  8. Hello, I need to make communication NB TW01B by Omron with Siemens's S7 1200 PLC using MODBUS TCP. I did everything like in this manual: https://www.myomron.com/index.php?action=kb&article=1566 I can read and write single bits from and to DB but I have problem with representation of float variable. In hmi_variable.png you can see my DB. Every BOOL variable communicate just fine the real ones doesnt. In NB - variables.png you can see how i added them into NB panel variable table. Settings.png shows settings of my INPUT number element on the frame( screen in NB). When I write on panel for example number 10.0 then from the panel view it looks properly but in PLC you can see value like in the 10.0.png. What am I doing wrong? Any suggest? hmi_variable.png NB - variables.png Settings.png 10.0.png

  10. Hi everyone! I have a question to all of you guys - do you ever use any software or online tools to manage your automation/electrical engineering projects? I have worked in a number of companies and have seen various scenarios, from using excel tables to run multi-million dollar projects to using proprietary SW for every little tiny project. Unfortunately I do not have experience working for any major big integrator and am very curious how projects are managed at this level (and if every engineer likes the way it is handled).  Additional question - does anyone have ever used a software to automatically generate the PLC code? I know some companies develop products to generate the "skeleton" of PLC program and I think it is a great thing to have.
  11. I have been able to Jog the opposite direction from a Hardware OT with my 1S servos (using Sysmac Studio).  I reset the OT Fault and Job the opposite direction. What I am having trouble with now is, I have set Software Limits and I cannot Jog off like I can with the Hardware OT.  I have been told I should be able to do that, but it still does not work.  The fault returns immediately when I press the appropriate HMI Job button....which is the same HMI buttons and Logic used when I have the Hardware OT. Has anyone ran into this before?  It may be a setting I have not done right maybe?? Thanks,
  12. Hi all,  I am in the process of doing a project for some school work and need to do a SWOT analysis of the latest modular PLCs from Mitsubishi (R series), Siemens (S7-1500) and Allen Bradley (ControlLogix).  So I thought what better way than to ask the people on what they think are the pros and cons of each! Thanks for your responses in advance!
  13. STEP 7 MICOWIN DOWNLOAD

Hello everyone. I am looking for a link to download Microwin 4.0 sp7 or higher and not the update. Kindly advise me. Thank you.
  14. Hi all. I would like to get in contact with whoever can help me in my particular problem. I hold an HNC level in robot and plc programming but for different reasons I'm still trying to get on the industry but is being a hard task. It's been a while that I'm trying to get into some companies by agencies and they are always asking for something that I can't provide like two years experience. Basically I'm writing here trying to find someone that can help me in anyway. Currently I live in Shrewsbury and it will be complicated to get relocated but nothing is impossible if things are interesting for both sides. Thanks to all even for read it and just consider the possibility to help me on any way.
  15. Dose anyone have experience with Beckhoff FC3121 profibus master PCIe card connected to Siemens CP342-5 as a profibus slave? The data retrieved from S7 PLC is wrong, and keeps fluctuating rapidly. TwinCAT (TC) config looks OK, and it reports that the slave is OK and has no error. The slave is in Run mode with green LEDs. S7 side is believed to be OK as another master from HMS-Anybus retrieved the data correctly. Tried several versions of TC up to the latest (at the moment) ver. 2.11.2305. Here is a zip file with two graph pics of the two masters showing how the "same" data looks like in each case: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ijlx6AXA3FX8GqgJjwWlFMxPxqT4xN9F/view?usp=sharing Thanks, Hos
  16. I'm a Controls Engineer and have exclusively used Allen Bradley for 8 years. Outside of my job, I was asked by a new start up brewery if I could help with some PLC and HMI issues they are having.  I'm anxious to lend a hand, but unfortunately it's all Siemens and I don't have any experience with it.  I'm sure I'll be fine once I'm able to communication with the PLC, but the software and license are my concern. My biggest hurdle is determining what software I need and hopefully finding a free version I can use. The PLC is a Simatic S7-1200.  I found a link on Siemens for a free 21 day trial for TIA Portal and WinCC, but wanted to make sure that was my best option. If anyone could offer any advice, I would greatly appreciate it!

  18. Mitsubishi & Siemens OPC connection

Hi All,  I am undergoing a project that requires me to connect a siemens s7-1200 with a Mitsubishi FX-3GE PLC using OPC UA. I was under the impression that Kepserver ex could do this, you ca install a 'mitsubishi suite' and a 'siemens suite' which will allow the kepserverex server to choose the drivers and connect the two plcs. Siemen's support however have told me that the s7-1200 CPU cannot function as an OPC client, and just as a server? If true, I do not understand how to get the mitsubishi FX to be a client to the siemens server, as kepserverex seemed to provide a solution.
  19. 50+ Thermistors on PLC

I am trying to build something (not for discussion) which involves using 50+ NTC resistors using a PLC to measure and do some other stuff. My question is, does anybody have an idea of how to deal with the high amount of individual NTC resistors? Of course, they need to be amplified and measured by the PLC directly or a device in between which converts it to digital. I have absolutely no idea in what way to connect the resistors to the PLC, does anybody have ideas? Let me know!
  20. Hi i have Beckhoff (CX5020-0120-M310) (profibus master) with TC3.1 and want communicate with Siemens Profibus ET 200S (IM151) DPV1. All modules works on ET200s except 1SI RS232 (6ES7138-4DF01-0AB0). When i triggered Barcode scaner i have one bit ON on no more data from 1SI module. on Array (0..15) of words 0.#0000000000000000 1.#0000000000000001 <= this bit is ON after trigered pushbutton on scaner 2.#0000000000000000 3.#0000000000000000 ..#0000000000000000 ..#0000000000000000 15#0000000000000000 This Same ET200S with this same configuration i have tested with Siemens S7-300 and it works, i can read data from Barcode scanner on the 0..31 array of byte (no WORD's like on CX5020) Siemens have On Communication => ET200s serial interface => Function block S_RCV i use them and i can communicate with 1SI RS232 via this block. But Twincat 3,1 don't have this block. On ET200s i have: 1. 1SI(rs232) module (rs232 parameter is : Data - 8bit, Stop - 1 bit, Parity - NONE, Data Flow - NONE, Interface type RS232-C ) 2 DO modul 3 RTD modul 4. DI 5. RO modul Any ideas where are problem? why can't read data from 1SI RS232?
  21. SECS (SEMI Equipment Communications Standard)/GEM (Generic Equipment Model) are communication interface protocols for communication between semiconductor equipment and a fab host. Fab host is a software application that is controlling and monitoring equipment processing using SECS/GEM protocol.
  22. Hi, to start, I'm very new to Siemens PLCs, but quite experienced on others (mainly ABB). I'm looking to set up a profinet network between an ABB AC500 PLC and an S7-1200. The goal is to transfer variables from an existing S7-1200 (owned by the customer) to my new AC500. It is required that I do this without having to stop the S7-1200. I can set up the AC500 as a profinet device, and have the S7-1200 remain as the controller, but this requires a config change on the S7-1200, which means I'd have to stop the PLC. I tried setting up the ABB as a profinet controller, but I'm having trouble finding a GSDML for the S7-1200 to allow me to do this.  Can anyone advise me on the best route to take to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.
  23. Hi, i am currently looking for a software that can open .gop-projects so i can look in the code and upgrade some panels at my current customers place. This software and GOP2000 are ancient and have not had any reply from ABB for several days about this. The GOPs here is starting to fail and we only got 1 spare that are in service almost 24/7.
  24. Commands Protocol

Hi all, I would like to ask you about the name and manual of the command protocol for PLC Siemens.  I am not asking about communication protocols, I am asking about the protocol of the commands to use some features of the PLC without TIA Portal. In a similar way, OMRON is using the protocols FINS and Hostlink, or Mitsubishi is using MELSEC commands. Thank you very much.
  25. Tia Portal Programming Help PLEASE

Hello I am having some difficulty writing code for a specific function using Tia portal and a S7-1200. I 10 Digital inputs and 1 analogue output set for 0-10V. When 1 DI is high I need the AQ to be at 1V, when any 2 DIs are high I need the AQ to be at 2, When any 3 DIs are high I need the AQ to be at 3V and so on.... I just can't work out the best way to do achieve this.   For a bit more info the to what the project entails the digital inputs are all coming back from DOL starters for woodworking equipment at workstations. When one of these starters is turned on a signal is sent back to the PLC DI card, this open a solenoid in extraction pipework and also increases the frequency at a VSD to extract the dust. So when more workstations are in use the higher the frequency of the VSD will be and the faster the motor will run allowing adequate extraction at all stations
