  4. Thanks everyone for the input. I could not move the sensor or add additonal eyes for stop due the range of boxes ran. I installed a Micrologix 1100 to control the glue pattern since they are cheaper than Nordson glue pattern controllers. Thanks again!
  5. Hey everyone, I need help with making a high speed timer in a SLC 504. The SLC timer has a time base max of .01 sec. and I need a way to make a time base of .001 like the mircologix 1500. The application is glue bead placement on small flaps. I'm using a Photoeye to detect the case leading edge, using the TIMER for a start delay, glue is then applied until the case flap passes the photoeye and stops the glue. With the timer set at 3/100 sec. the glue starts too soon. When set at 4/100 sec. the glue starts too late. I'm using IIM and IOM's just prior to the photoeye input and the solenoid output and still having no success. Any suggestions out there? Thanks in advance! John

  7. Hi Everyone, I have a colleague that needs help with a counting issue. Our customer has a product counter that is displayed on a touchscreen. Our problem is – the customer does not want the counter to reset or rollover. The customer wants a value displayed from 0 – infinite or something similar. We use an A/B Micrologix 1500 and an EZ-Automation 6” screen. We need help with the logic and how to display the result. Our typical numeric display button on the screen goes to 5 characters (99999). Any help appreciated.
  8. Looking for input on servo drive preferences throughout the industry. I work for an OEM machine builder and we currently use A/B Ultra Servo Drives. I need a more flexible solution in the I/O of the servo and a lower cost. I tried yaskawa also, but coding it is an issue. I would like to create a system of parts that allow the servo, screen, and PLC to communicate together at the lowest cost possible. We are currently fixed on A/B PLC's as a standard. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, John Mays Electrical Designer Smurfit-Stone Orlando 407-843-1300 x154
