  1. I have used the JIC symbols from this site before using autocad 2000 and they worked like a charm. I am now having problems loading them onto an evaluation version of an intellicad product (ZwCAD 2006i). I can get the JIC Symbol menu loaded like the instructions say. I did get the menu drop down and it says "Schematic -WWW......." and "Panel- WWW....." the image menu loads but none of the symbols show up and it will error out if I try to navigate in that image menu. I have gone into the "Tools.....Options......File tab and have stuck the path at where the blocks are but it doesn't help with the image menu. If someone has a clue could you please throw me a bone......... Thanks Tim
  2. toggle program

Thanks for the help, seems like I tried this ( maybe in a more convoluted way), but logic says it will work. Thanks for the reply Tim
  3. Being a Newbie and also out of the programming thing for a while I am asking for some help. I need to know the best way to Toggle two different outputs off of the same Inputs. Here is what is happening, I am using a 2 position closed center solinoid to control clamping of parts on a fixture. I need to be able to place the parts in the fixtrue and clamp the parts Using two opto-touch, but then if the parts do not seat correctly I need to use the same opto-touch buttons to unclamp the parts. I know that both outputs cant be on at the same time so that is where I get into trouble. If you could help that would be great. sequence: * Place parts in fixture * touch opto buttons ( obviously I have an anti-tie down ckt), and they clamp the parts * The parts do not seat correctly * touch the same opto buttons to unclamp the parts * Reset parts in fixture * touch opto buttons , and they clamp the parts Tim
  4. Controls schematics

I have been using some old controls schematics at work as a general guide line as how to create controls schematics and was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their style. I would like to update some schematics at work but would like some fresh new ways to represent them. I have loaded the JIC autocad schematics add-on, and use that here and there for my controlls but would also would like to know if anyone would share their library of components(i.e. contactors, N.O switches, etc....). Thanks
  5. thanks for the input, no pun intended. My thought is the same as all of yours, to bring attention to the one item that has stoped the machine. I know that some people like to have the light on when it is running just so the operator can see the E-stop in an emergency, but I think that if the operator doesn't know where the E-stop is they shouldn't be operating the machine. thanks again
  6. Here is a question for all of you that have been programming for many moons. Is it proper to have the E-Stop light light up when the machine is running and safe, or should the E-stop light be on when the E-Stop button is pushed. I have seen it both ways and a programmer where I work has it on when the machine is running and safe. just want to hear some opinions on this. thanks
  7. I work for an automotive supplier and we use mostly AB plc's but we have 2 machines on our floor which use Omron controllers. we have been having problems with one of the machines and are considering purchasing the software to get into the plc and possibly reprogram part of it. I called the manufacturer of the machine and they told me that they do not use the Omron programming software to program the machine they use something they developed in-house. Does this sound like it is possible. thanks
