Thanks for the reply Gambit. The files had just been sitting in a directory of the VM where the Mitsubishi software was installed since the software was used last. A backup had been taken and put on the server at the end of the job but this also won't open, so it looks like the corruption occurred maybe during the last few hours of work on the laptop but no errors were reported during this time. Hi, We did a couple of modifications to a project last year in GX Works2 and when we have come to open it up again we see the message "A part of workspace files of the specified project is lacking". If we attempt to open forcefully we get the "Unable to open the project" message. The project is in iQ Works and we use the Melsoft Navigator 2.12N to open it, normally we would see the CPU type in navigator but in this case we don't, and if we attempt to open via that or directly in GX Works2 1.536J we get the error messages. Comparing the files to the previous version we can't see any missing and all files are read/write. Is there anything we can try to recover the code? Cheers, Mike.
