Hi Greg, As I said C20-LK201-EV1-U is exactly C20-LK201-EV1, U is for used... As other guys said it has to work with C28K. But personally I cannot guarantee because I never laid my hands on it. Too expensive... Instead I got a C200H-PRO27 console together with C500-AP003 adapter from Ebay (30 bucks.. ) and copied the program line by line. My PLC was C28P Luckily they were only 80 lines All the best Marian

Thanks Automation, I have just discovered on that site "U" stands for "Used" ... :) For the moment I will not buy anything as the customer has to make up his mind, however in all books I read up till now looks like this host link should be good also for CxxP. But if you are right hope to find out in time. Regards

Ok, I see the 3G2C7-LK201-EV1 is really hard to find. What is the difference between this one and C20-LK201-EV1-U ? For example if I will get the 3G2C7-CN122 cable, can I chop it and use with other host link? Thanks Marian

Thanks all, now I understand why nobody was mentioning this cable, as the host link plug itself straight into plc. Thanks again everybody for enlightening me. Regards Marian

Hi all. I have got a request to back-up a program from a Sysmac C28P PLC. Searching all forums everyone agrees that I will need a 3G2C7-LK201-EV1 Host Link Adaptor , also with help from Jay Antony's upload I understood what kind of cable I need from pc to host link and how to do the settings. What is unclear for me is what kind of cable I need from Host Link to PLC. I have only a picture of the PLC where I can see a horizontal port of 48 pins, as well a cover in the left. We have any peripheral port under this cover? I need to know as I have to buy a 3G2C7-LK201-EV1 but have to make sure what kind of cable I need . ( on ebay some of them have cables, others not) Thank you Marian

RSLogix 500 Starter - For Oler Series E Micrologix
pimpim32 replied to Ryno's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Looks like Ryno is in bad luck. I found the backup CD, version number is 5.5, however when I am trying to extract them stops at core file No.5. Checking on DOS shows error file corrupted. I do not know how to fix this. I could upload the files if it is ok with administrators and somebody might take a look and see where the problem is. They are about 20Mb divided in 18 files -
RSLogix 500 Starter - For Oler Series E Micrologix
pimpim32 replied to Ryno's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Ron Checked my archives and found a free starter RSLogix software, I do not know what version, what I know it is I burned it in August 2003. When I'll be home I can send it to you to burn it or straight to Ryno. It is about 20Mb Let me know Marian -
Allen Bradley Driver for Visual Basic
pimpim32 replied to adamriffe's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Personally up till now I did not found a free AB DF1 ethernet driver.I would like to have it though to look at it as in my plans are also to write one myself. ( sometime ) For a free RS232 AB DF1 driver check these two links. http://www.plctalk.net/qanda/showthread.php?t=27163 http://www.tomantron.com./ you can link the nearest computer thru RS232 and make it server for the others. -
New ML1500 Power Supply Distance Rating Spec
pimpim32 replied to Chris Elston's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
I am using that layout , with the mention that the expansion power supply is in middle of I/O modules, not ML power supply/CPU unit. I didn't see it in the book and I never tried. As a rule of a thumb, now when I want to check a new configuration I just make a new project and add my cards. If no error/warning on verify I go with it. If any error/warning then I have to start rereading the books/specs -
Did you take a look at Panasonic's FPX ? I never used them but seems like they have the option to use FPWinPro software where you can use SFC or ST. Looks very impressive for a microPLC. Now I am waiting for the moment when I will make a project with FPX to see how it feels like.

Thanks jstolaruk for your help. First word from my supplier guy is to flash-upgrade the firmware ( honestly he said that also first time, but my customer said he has no time for downtime and asked for a replacement). Still waiting for AB guys.

First power supply was Weidmuller. Second what I added only for DNet is also Weidmuller, but only 1A. Grounding is done not through the plate, but separate grounding wires. Termination resistor they are there, but now I do not remember if they were metal film or carbon. Do you think will make a big difference if yhey are not metal film?

HOW TO LINK VB WITH RSLOGIX500
pimpim32 replied to sathya's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
logix_rm001__en_p.pdfI explored one time VB for RSLogix500. As it wasn't necessary for the time being I ended up just rewriting the code in AB books just for practice. The code inside this book is as good as you can get. Good luck -
Nor to me ... However I believe something is writing to NVMEM after or before full powering up/down hence checksum is not the same anymore, hence error. I will ask the guy to change parameter 114 from 0 to 1. I have seen on internet some sites about EEPROM's corruption when powering up/down due to some reset procedures. What I want to make sure is from my part I am not writing anymore at NVMEM during operation, or powering up/down.

A-B told me that it was for "Personality EEPROM data corruption" and is noise related, when they found out that I used relays in same circuit with DNet they declared cannot be anything else.As being far from an expert in DNet I accepted the answer, put a new power supply dedicated for DNet and the drive changed under warranty. After my discussion with them on knowledge base appeared technote E10542878 I do not know if it was related to me as my axis didn't trip, the error coming up only at powering up. E55 in book is under reserved. However if we take a look at parameter instance 150 Get Fault history errors have same numbers as in error code and at 55 we have "User NV Checksum" Search text on AB knowledgebase with NVMEM came up with four technotes, all related to U3K and DNet. I do not know if they were there 4 months ago but sure they are now. When I made the program I made sure not to write to NVMEM ( instance ID 9, byte 4 bit 6 always 0) but now they are saying also parameter 114 should be set to 1. I do not need to write to NVMEM on operation, only on setup when dowloading Ultraware file. Except those two things is there anything else to make sure nobody is writing to NVMEM? Also do they have somewhere a counter with the number of writes at NVMEM? (And still I can't make the connection between noise and NV checksum)
