  1. PLC Architectutre

    EN2TR is for controlLogix
  2. This video shows a simple way of backing up PF525 523 with no software installation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abzeSvVe-Rk
  3. Hello everyone, I am need some help with a project,  we are using liquid nitrogen to cool a product which runs on a conveyor through a tunnel which has liquid nitrogen controlled by a proportional valve using a thermocouple and a PID loop in the PLC currently i have a PIDE loop set in the PLC the temperatures have been scaled  (-150 to + 50 PV and set points from -20 to -100) to a range 0f 0 (-150) to 200 (+50) output from the PIDE is inverted for analogue output 0 - 10V What i want to know is - is this right in terms of scaling or should i be looking to do this another way  dont have much experience with PID in PLCs so any advice would be greatly appreciated   Regards Matt
  4. PID Loop Help

Thanks for the reply, Not sure if it works yet as only bench tested, i have thermocouples connected and measured the analogue output which is going in the right direction. will just have to see what happens when we test it for real.
  5. When to use HSC

    perfect thanks for the advice
  6. Good morning all, i need some advice about when to use a HSC, processor is L33 and i have two pulse inputs one at max 53Hz and the other at max 117Hz will this require a HSC?   Thanks in advance
  7. maybe start a new thread Rharo
  8. controllogix and 500 on IPAD

They have an app call factory talk teamOne have look on the Rockwell automation site not sure the details but looks like you can access tag values
  9. You should be able to update, enter the serial number and product key for the software you have and it will show you if you are entitled to download version 10, i did this recently from version 7 to 10 with no additional purchases   just to add any existing project will be converted to version 10 when you open them
  10. maybe there is some issue using a reed switch for this application. is it PNP/NPN type proximity switch mounted on the side of the Piston? I know this does not help you but using this type of switch with a Safety unit would not be classed as a safety switch.
  11. what output does the flowmeter have? probably pulses? you would count the pulses either using a high speed counter or normal counter depending on the speed of the pulses.
  12. maybe the FW was downgraded to match the MER file.
  13. are you loading the .MER from the USB drive? you will need to copy to internal storage
  14. Retentive OTE

yeah agreed & make sure the program will still be safe if you are going to OTL
  15. Retentive OTE

OTL is retentive so you could write some code using OTL to keep the state of OTE during power cycle
  16. ok i see them now, maybe someone can help you with this but its not me. good luck.
  17. ??? there is not much to say about what you have provided, do you have the subroutines as well?
  18. Are you getting the speed information from a VSD? if so move the speed value to a tag which is triggered  by a timer to update the value every second.
  19. maybe the speed is jumping about too much, perhaps an average calculation for the motor speed may give a smoother display too?
  20. sorry, yes thats what i meant put the hmi back to original settings and just update the speeds using timer
  21. ETH-1 Ethernet Protocol

you would go to communications menu and who active to set the path for a project is that what you mean?
  22. agreed keep the hmi setting the same, update the motor speed using a 1 second timer?
  23. panel-view plus 600 HMI

if you are connected correctly to the PV it will appear on this screen
  24. panel-view plus 600 HMI

this is what you need to have to try and update the firmware
  25. panel-view plus 600 HMI

just seen there is an option to update fw via controlflash 2715p/2713/2715 whats the part number of the screen?
