  1. I would like to make copies of current logic in all my 5/03 processors, when I go online I can see all the bit descriptions and all the ladder names, but if I upload the logic to laptop to make copy there are no descriptions. any ideas ? Thanks 98 os Rs logix 500 6.3
  2. Driver configuration

Thanks guru, I have tried nodes 1 through 5 with no luck, should I try them all ? one time I tried to go online and thought I was plugged into the 485 port but was not plugged in at all, I had the same message " diagnostic status has failed 0x4 " Thanks Sparky
  3. Driver configuration

Thanks Ken, I had already tried the recommended settings per instructions. and when trying to go online with 5/03 processor I would get the message " diagnostic status has failed 0x4" so I tried an auto configure. This is new software. In my device manager it shows the 1747-uic under USB and also shows it under com port 2. I am wondering if I received a bad converter or cable? I can not see the plc in rs who, it only shows my work station. any help would be appreciated. Thanks Sparky

  9. Greetings, I understand there is software for programming a SLC 150, instead of using handheld programmer. If so what is it called and, is it very costly,do I need special cable? Thankyou Sparky
  10. RS Logix 500 to 5/03

  11. RS Logix 500 to 5/03

Hi Ron, Thank you for the detailed reply. On two of my5/03 processors the dtam is plugged into the 485 port, the other three 5/03 processors have unused 485 ports. only one of them uses the rs 232 port for a printer application. My old laptop has windows 98 all the ports are available including the serial port. Although I am looking for a reason to upgrade to a newer model laptop which I understand most do not have a serial port and would probably have xp installed. So from what I gather I should buy the 1747-uic adapter and cable, and utilize the 485 port on all equipment? by the way what is DH plus? and what brand usb to serial adapter should I buy. I will be purchasing the newest version of Rs logix and linx lite. Thanks again
  12. Good morning, I am new to RS logix so please bear with me. I have several 5/03 processors in my plant. I will be buying the 500 software. Do I need a PCMK card $$$ I understand it makes communications easier. I have windows 98, and I can go to 2000 or XP if I have to. Can I use just cables without an interface converter. and do I need a serial port for those connections. I will quit. Thanks In advance Sparky
