  1. Yes, errors occur always now. It's impossible to operate PowerFlex40 from PanelView since error appears. I want to clarify the situation. I have never changed any IP addresses of adapters, our vendor made it before. When I mount a new adapter it starts to work fine. And I don't need to change IP or another settings. So your assumption may not be true because I did not set IP addresses at all.
  2. Hi guys. I have a control logix PLC 1756 with Ethernet network. I ran into following problem: Our Ethernet/IP adapters for PowerFlex40 Frequency drivers wear out very often, for example, we have about 10 PowerFlex40 with adapters and in average every 6 month 1 or 2 of them stop respond to PanelView. Before we just bought new one from our vendor and replace them. But now I want to find exact reason of it. When adapters stop respond to PanelView indicators of the adaptors are following: • Port – solid green; • Mod – flashing green; • Net a – solid red; • Net B – Off. According to manual for 22-COMM-EE adapters (22comm-um004_-en-p) problem is “The adapter failed the duplicate IP address detection test.”. And I have to “Configure the adapter to use a unique IP address and cycle power.” First of all I do not understand why IP address may stop being unique? I have no experience in such matters, so I want to make sure. All I need is to change IP address of adapter through RSLogix 5000 and that’s it? Or will I have to change IP address of adapter somewhere else in controller program? And when I try to connect to adapter through RSLogix5000 I have a pop-up window that adapter unable for connection. How else could I connect? Thanks in advance
  3. Thanks againg, Ron. I have made inquiries and found out that it is a legal software, and I can download different revisions of RSLogix5000 from Rockwell. And I found out compatibility service on Rockwell website. So problems are solved and I will start to study our programms to ensure proper maintenance =)
  4. Thanks to you I see difference between modes. But I've met a next problem. I was not able to upload programm because RSLogix 5000 on laptop has 17... revision and software in PLC has 19... revision. And when I have tried upload RSLogix showed an error about different revisions. English is not my native language and it's hard to find now how to use google in this questions. So it will be helpfull if you give me few more answers or links where I could find detailed answers. Here questions begin: 1. How to make sure do I have a Licensed Software (RSLogix5000) on my laptop or crack vesion without risks to lose programm? Because we have the same PLC on another production line which has version 17.... And because we have this programm only in one laptope (RSLogix enterprise) and nobody knows where did we get this laptop. Maybe our contractor who assembled the line left it to us. 2. Where to read about different revisions compatibility? Because if I update the programm on laptop from 17 to 19 revision I am not sure that I will be able to work with our old line with 17... revision . And maybe I will have to update its mainprogramm too? What the cosequences may follow?
  5. Thank you very much Ron. The problem was that I didn't know that it was necessary to change IP adress. My laptop had 198.162.... So when I changed RSLinx found PLC and showed tipe. And thank you again for explaining difference between download and upload. I'm 80% sure I would do download if not you.
  6. Hello. I don't have expirience in things like this. Help me please. I have to connect to PLC Logix1756 in order to download programm. Chassis have Ethernet/IP slot. I've tryed to plug my ethernet cable in this slot and in switch, then configured driver in RSLinx (Ethernet devices and Ethernet IP). Ethernet slot shows IP 1.1.1.2. I wrote it in driver. But RSWho shows PLC as "Unidentified device". Controller has RS232 joing but I don't have this cable right now. So I will be glad to hear your advices. Thank you.
