Hi, folks, how’s going?   When we create Runtime Application in FactoryTalk View Studio, how to know which type (7.0, 6.0…) we should select? I used to choose the highest one, but it did NOT work after downloading to some PanelView Plus.   Thanks a lot.

Hi, folks, how’s going?   We have one Fanuc oi-MF machining center.  I tried to set the clock, because it’s one hour behind, but no luck.   Those are what I did: 1, set machine in “MDI” mode; 2, enabled PARAMETER WRITE function (=1); 3, but when I pressed INPUT to set up TIME, always showed “WRITE PROTECT”.   Could somebody gave me a help?   Thanks a lot.

  Hi, folks, how’s going?   We just get one new production line with Logix5000 system. But I cannot understand why there are 4 Ethernet cards and 1 Controlnet card over PLC rack.   For my understanding, we can use 1 Ethernet card to connect to a hub, then connect to few modules with that hub. So why we need 4 Ethernet cards on the same rack?   Thanks for your help.

Hi, guys, how’s going?   There is a Factorytalk View Studio project “AAA” in my old computer. We want to transfer it to the laptop.   But there are “AAA” file in HMI projects and “AAA” file in Runtime over the computer. So how can we transfer it properly? Then we can open, configure, download… it to the Panelview Plus with new laptop.      Thanks a lot.

Hi, folks, how’s going?   There are 39 node modules on our Logix5000 controller via ControlNet. We modified the machine, so we want to remove the last node module and its I/O modules out physically.   How can we take them out from the cabinet properly? Delete that node module configuration from the program? Then put the terminator on the last T-tap?   Thanks a lot.

Hi, folks, how is going?   There are two PanelView Plus 1500 over our production line and they work well.   Today I edited the configuration on FactoryTalk View ME  for one PV plus, then tried to download it.   But I cannot find the IP address (10.10.4.122) of that device via Transfer Utility (pic1).   I am confused right now, because : 1, we can see the IP address (10.10.4.123) of another PV plus on Transfer Utility (pic1). 2, we also can find the IP address (10.10.4.122) from Networks and Devices,  FactoryTalk View ME (pic2).   Could someone help me figure it out?   Thanks.

Hi, guys, how r u? In FactoryTalk View studio-ME, how to configure a Push Button to be visible and Invisible? For example: When tag “HH[0].0” is ON, the Push Button is visible. When tag “HH[0].0” is OFF, the Push Button is Invisible. I worked on the property of Push Button, but did not figure it out. Thanks a lot.

Hi, guys, how’s going?   One production line lost the communication after we rebooted the power. We found there was no project loaded on that Logix5000 controller.   We downloaded the program from PC to PLC and the communication is back.   But I still have some questions:   1, how did it happen? There is no battery alarm, but we lost the project. 2, plz see the attachment, if I am not sure the top .ACD is the current one (because different people can use different computers to access to the controller), the bottom .ACD with date 11/24/2015 is the latest one, right? 3, how to compare two logix5000 projects/programs?   Thanks a lot.

Hi, guys, how going? Could you give me a help on my small project? One part of the project is that we want to use a shaft encoder (part number: 15S-20M8-0360NV1R3PP-J00-S1) to monitor the height of the blade. We already finished 1768-L43 controller and I/O cards configuration. Then we simulated the program and it worked well. I got 1769-HSC card today. Could you tell me how to wire the card to/from shaft encoder? How to set up, program this HSC card in Logix5000? Like if the encoder is on clockwise rotation, counter number should be up, otherwise, the number should be down. Thanks for your help.

Hi, guys, how’s going? We have one production line that uses AB logix5000 as main PLC and FANUC robot, SIEMENS 840Dpl as slaves. The slaves get/transfer data from/to main PLC via SST profibus module (cat no. SST-PB3-CLX-RLL). I want to learn how to configure and program SST profibus module, e.g. output Q65.1 in SIEMENS is mapped to tag “sieout.1” in logix5000. Could you tell me where I can find manuals? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks a lot.

Hi, guys, how r u? We have a small project to control a blade up and down. After the configuration on 1768-L43, we downloaded the program and DIs and DOs are functional. We plan to use an encoder (part number: 15S-20M8-0360NV1R3PP-J00-S1) to monitor the height of the blade, so we connected it to 1769-IF8 module. But no matter how to rotate it, this is no value change on 1769-IF8 channels. Could somebody tell us how to figure it out? Thanks a lot.

Hi, guys, how are you? We have one old machine with Siematic S7-200 and OP3. We want to upgrade the machine to AB system, so they give me 1768-L43 and PanelView Plus 700. I have some questions about 1768-L43 configuration in Logix5000: On my electrical cabinet, the physical locations from left to right are: 0: power supply; 1: 1768-EWEB A module; 2: 1768-L43; 3: 16 bits AC output module; 4: 32 bits DC Input module; 5: 1769-ECR analog module. When I configured 1768-L43 in Logix5000, there are 1768 bus and 1769 bus showing up. 1, I added 1768-EWEB A module on 1768 bus, but why its slot number is 1 and the slot number of L43 is 0? I think the EWEB’s should be 0 and L43’s should be 1. 2, I tried to add 1769-ECR analog module on 1769 bus, but I cannot find it on the Category. Why? Could you give a hand to fix these? Hi, guys, how r u? One PanelView 1000 is defective on our production line, so we replaced it and downloaded the program with PanelBuilder32. Then we are looking for spare one on website, there are some questions: 1, Is the PanelView 1000 with the same CAT, but different SER, REV and/or FRN OK? 2, can we transfer PanelBuilder32 configuration/project to FactoryTalk View version? Because it is much better and easier to use a PanelView Plus. 3, can we download the configuration/project to the PanelView or PanelView Plus with different panel size? Thanks for your time.

Hi, guys, how are you? In FactoryTalkView, can we copy the screen from 1 project to another? We have two PanelView Plus 1500. One is with project A, another one is with project B. But they both are connecting to one PLC. There is a screen such as “20-convey setup” in project A. And we want to build the same screen on project B. How can we do it? Thanks for your help.

Hi, guys, how can I find the location(s) of the tag in FactoryView? E.g. we know there is a tag “pump_on.0” in logix5000 is connected to the button in FactoryView, But there are many screens, buttons…in FactoryView, how can I find the location(s) of that tag and/or that button? Thanks for your time.
