Found this while browsing Linkedin; a link on EHow "How to import PLC data to Excel using RSLinx software by DDE" Might come in handy some day. I haven't tried it yet.

I think the first thing I would do if this was my issue is, set all ports and devices to 100Mbps and half duplex, if you get stability then tweak, however these settings should be fast enough.

I just finished up a week with Ron on ControlLogix, I am amazed at how much I learned in so little of time. I just wish someone would have mentioned these four little phrases about 20 years ago: Go Look for a One, Go Look for a Zero, Go Wright a One, or Go Write a Zero. I do have to admit that most of my experience is with Honeywell DCS and Bailey ABB DCS, but I've had several interviews that I had to express that I was weak when it came to working with Rockwell hardware. Not any more! I'm currently a Control System Specialist with a massive Honeywell Experion system and about 40 ControlLogix PLC's that all come into the DCS via RSLinx that is on the main servers. When we have issues with the PLC's we called a contractor, that's not going to happen much anymore. I'm very confident now. I just spent 40+ hours with a guy that has a passion for Rockwell controllers and loves teaching people as much as he can squeeze in the this amount of time. I enjoyed the way the class was presented; This in the problem or common misunderstanding and we will work together to fix it, not this is the software, this is how it works, here is a bunch of useless information, and this is how you build a traffic light. As far as Ron goes he's golden. He refers himself to Uncle Ron sometimes and he is like the uncle you'd just want go hang out with, hear his wisdom and his funny stories.
