I just installed RsLinx on Windows Server 2008. First thing I noticed, GUI is gone while RsLinx runs as a service. Rockwell blames it on Microsoft’s security and offers a lame and reckless solution, to run RsLinx as an application. Microsoft discouraged the development of interactive services back in 2007 for being a bad practice, and since Vista, services have been isolated in session 0. It was evident then that this new design was coming to the new generation of Windows Server. Still, Rockwell didn't adapt their software and now offers an incomplete product lacking a very important functionality - for the same price.
