Finally!! I got it working!! It was a combination of spoofed rack size and dip switch settings. I appreciate the help! Thanks, Gabe.

I finally got a light on my asb module!! The problem now is I have a green flashing light on my asb (adapter active) and a red flashing comm light on my 1747-sn card. The books say that this means that they are not communicating properly! I am really confused. I am sure you can tell this is my first time setting this up. I have set the dip switches every way possible. If someone has an idea please help!! Thanks.

I am having some problems with a flex i/o asb module. It is a 1794-ASB series D. The problem is when I power it up all three lights come on and then all three go off. I check the voltage at the module and everything seems fine. My 1747-SN is not reading the asb, I have the comm dip switches set the same on the scanner and the asb. I think I should have a fault light or something! Please help! Thanks, Gabe

I have a job where I am building a machine that has to be integrated into an existing assembly cell. The cell has a slc 5/03 and the equipment I am building I am going to use a micro 1200. I know I need 1 1761-net-aic, but do I need another at the slc? My micro is going to have a PV 300 connected to it, can I also use the net aic to communicate between them? I know I may have to change some firmware to get this to work properly, but I am not exactly sure what components I need to mak this work. I will use a MSG cmd to communicate host and slave. I have done this type of thing before, after alot of head scratching and some pointers from here made it work. Thamks, Gabe.

Ascii code and Panelview?
gking789 replied to gking789's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
This panelview is writing the screen number to an integer file in the slc. The logic has equ statements that copy A:92 to A:9 which displays only the list for that specific screen. The control selector list is written in ascii in the A:92 file. There are two pb's and as you scroll through the control list the functions of the pb's change. They are controlled by the logic in a st99 file. This is a really cool way to program, but is really throwing me for a loop. Have any of you ever run across this type of program? I'm shure there are quite a few of more familliar guys who know all about this. Any comments? Thanks, Gabe -
I am working on a project where the SLC 5/04 and a panelview 600 are controlling a rather large robotic machine. The panelview has a control selector list that in the states it has a string like "A16: A900". The Slc has an A90 file that has word in the bit positions. There will be like two letters in each bit. The radix is set to ascii. I would like to use this same type of programming instead of changing it, but I am clueless to how to do it. I can email the logic and panelview program if someone is willing to help me. Thanks in advance, Gabe

I have a Dell laptop running Win 2000, and i need to connect to a SLc 5/04 on Dh+ is a 1784-PCMK the best way to connect? I have been connecting via a null modem cable and using the aic net driver in linx. It is very slow and I have to connect to a panelview the is on a Rio with this SLc. I have been doing too much driver and cable swapping. Also what is the difference between the A and B card? I need some help!! Thanks, Gabe.

1747-L40 to Panelview 300
gking789 replied to gking789's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Well I got the DH485 firmware downloaded to my panelview, and I am able to connect to it DF1 using the PIC driver in RSlinx and download my programs to it. I have looked all over AB's web site looking for how to properly connect my 1747-L40 to my panelview. I thought connecting my 1747-pic cable between my slc and 300 and get them to communicate. No Luck!! I think I need something like a 1747-AIC module to make it work but I am not sure. The way I have connected the the panelview comes up with am error "No network node found"! You guys have been a big help, maybe someone can walk me through this one. Thanks in advance!! -
1747-L40 to Panelview 300
gking789 replied to gking789's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Is there another way to load the firmware files other than the flash card? I bought this panelview to use with a micrologix on an upcomming project. I have a slc for testing programs (really a toy!) Thats why I am trying to hook this 300 to my slc, just for fun. Thanks for all the input!!! -

I have just got a new panelview 300. I also got the wrong cable (Micrologix to panelview). Does anyone know how to connect a 1747-L40 fixed controller to this panelview 300. I think the only port on the plc is the DH-485. Can this be connected to the DF1 port on the panelview? I'm sure it is some type of pic box connection. I have the 1747-pic/aic cable. I'm just not sure which way to go. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Does anyone know where you can get a fluid power symbols package for Autocad 2000? I like the free download electrical symbols that I got from this website. It has been a big help. Thanks, Gabe.

Problems Online Editing 1747-L40 C/F
gking789 replied to gking789's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Thanks!! I reloaded software and everything, thinking I might not have all components installed. Gabe -
I have the same problem on my laptop running win 2000. Went to control panel and did not have much luck there. Hopefully someone knows a fix for this.

I have a SLC500 1747-L40C/f fixed controller. The problem is when i am online through rslogix, and i am in run mode, I see the edit tool bar, but the rung edits is not lit-up. When I go to the pull-down it is not highlighted there either. I'm beginning to think that this plc does not allow online editing. Any advice would be better than where I am at right now. Thanks.
