Jeremy, This appears to be just what I was looking for! I can't thank you enough for your help on this. YOU ARE AWESOME! Mark
  2. Prosoft PLC through RS-232 to USB-B

I hope that's not the only answer. We have to avoid putting another PC in the system. There's no practical location to install one. As far as the ASCII strings go, we have the new set of commands which are compatible with the new analyzer. The whole thing works fine with a computer. We just need it to work fine with PLC control. Anybody else? Mark
  3. Here is a real difficult situation that needs everyone's expert advice. I have a Prosoft PLC the has a traditional RS-232 / 422 / 485 output that is currently sending ASCII character strings to an analyzer that has an RS-232 input port. I am replacing that analyzer with one that only has a USB-B port for receiving ASCII commands. I do not have the ability to put a computer in line and neither the PLC nor the analyzer will accept drivers for a USB-B to RS-232 adapter. I think what I need is something like a USB host adapter if such a thing exists. Any ideas? Thank you all!
