  1. Oh my gawd, its 5000 dollars for the software. Maybe I need a 500 series unit for a trainer but will Allen Bradley give me RSLinx and the whats it called? Micrologix Lite? I started down this road once before with a micrologix controller but lost interest with it because it was so small. I dunno, this is a dealbreaker, my boss just gave me this thing, maybe i ought to take it back if its worth any amount of money, perhaps they could sell it. Besides it would be unethical to keep it if he didnt know its value. Hell, theres three more of em and as far as I know they are dumpster bound. Thanks Paul
  2. Hi guys Thjs is gonna sound like a beginner question because thats what I am. My respective question concerns a Allen Bradley 1785l40B/E processor in a 1771 chasis with I/O cards included. I believe this is a PLC 5 series unit and have set it up in my workshop with the intention of using it as a trainer. I have no idea what kind of AB software this thing uses, RSLogix 5? I think its correct processor name is 5/40? Can I use this thing as a trainer or should I just trash it? Thanks in advance for any helpful suggestions.
