  1. I agree, with the zoom set to 100% what you see is what you will get. I have not noticed any difference with simulator and actual NS, but this may depend on windows configuration settings. scott
  2. Use symbol names in macros?

I am pretty sure you can not do this just based on how the macros perform and my experience with them it seems they need address to use any of the commands. scott
  3. cx-designer modes

Here are the modes of Cx-D, I added some notes but in reallity there is no documentation I have found that really explans any of the modes. P= template devlopoper mode T=Modbus TCP Mode (expands modbus address and commands??) L=DataLogger Mode (Have not used before who knows?) D=Developer Mode (SAP developement) M=Mitsubishi Mode (allows for Mitsubishi Addresses) N=Expansion CIP Device Mode ( I know its has been used for communicaitons to Robots) scott
  4. CX-Designer Test Mode Error

Don't think I have seen or heard of that error, only suggestion I could think of even though you said you had re-installed it would be to use the omron cx-one remover tool to make sure everything is removed properly, then do a reinstall and update. scott
  5. NS-RS485

Easiest solution is the omron RS232/RS485 Converter, just plug it in and wire it up. scott
  6. CX Designer Animation

To do any animation with the NS you can use macros and the control flag for visiblity, another option is to use macros and the move part command. You can also have multiple images in a .lst file and reference which image to display based on a value. I have done a similar application as you show in your video for a training class on a bottle fill machine. scott
  7. NS HMI upload list over ethernet

you are able to access the memory area where the .lst file is stored in the NS via FTP connection and can update the file that way and the screen would show the updates when the page was refreshed or switched to. For the other option, the answer is Yes you could store the list in the PLC and have it dynamicaly changed, I am not sure though if you could change the data via FTP to the PLC? scott
  8. NT to NS conversion

If you converted the PLC code as well as the HMI did you set the NS to "allow system memory compatibility with NT" this may help?
  9. multliple hosts

Sounds like you could be in the wrong mode of Cx-Designer. Depending on if this machine was originally developed over seas it could have been created in one of the other modes of Cx-D. Follow the following instructions to change modes. P = template devlopoper mode T =Modbus TCP Mode L =DataLogger Mode D =Developer Mode M =Mitsubishi Mode N =Expansion CIP Device Mode 1. Open Cx-D 2. Select Help, About Cx-Designer 3. With the info window open hold "CTRL" + "SHIFT" + "letter from above" 4. Restart Cx-D 5. To change back to standard mode just follow the above steps again. I would say you should first try Expansion CIP device mode. Scott
  10. Project Specific Transfer Settings

Yes the latest update has a compare function. 1.bmp It looks like it will compare either file to file or file to NS 2.bmp
  11. Convert NS8 project to NS5

When resizing the screen down in size there is no option for auto sizing the screens to fit. The easiest way I use is to group all of the objects on the screen then you are able to re-size them as a group. You will still have to adjust the fonts unless you are using the standard fonts and have auto re-size enabled.
  12. Converting Designer Project to Earlier version

There is a "Hidden-Function" to convert CX-Designer projects to LOWER System Versions. Browse to the folder... Please execute mod.exe in your CX-Designer install folder. You will be prompted... Select "Yes". Now, in the conversion options you can convert up, as well as down 1 system version level. Screenshot is from a project created with Ver.8.4 If you need to convert down more than one version you have to do it one version at a time, saving to a new file each time. Confirmation dialog you are prompted with before you convert. Just be sure to test your program after and downgrade to verify operation.
  13. Converting NT600S to NS8

You need to convert your current project NT600s to-> NT620s then to-> NT631-v2 sys 3.1. After you have converted it to NT631 save it as a *.mmi. You then need to make sure that either the project is not currently open in the NTST software or just close the NTST software. Next open up NTSeries Conversion Support Tool which should be located in a similar location as "C:\Program Files\OMRON\CX-One\CX-Designer\NT631C_Cnv\NSCnv_NT.exe" Then you just have to select the *.mmi file you saved earlier and select execute conversion. Scott
  14. CX-Designer recipe

I don't know of any option to not download the data block csv file on download to the NS. What you can do is transfer the project from the NS to a new location and in the folder that is created for the project there will be a csv file for each data block in the project. You just need to take that file from the uploaded project and copy and overwrite the csv file that is in the project you want to download. Scott
  15. NS5 and SAP's

What is the SAP you are trying to use?
