JC is right. I've used the PRU to get back a TSX21 program by linking the suitcase printer connector to my laptop. USB converter will work with some software but not with all PCMCIA is the best choice but not work exactly like real com port. It's why, in my company, we buy Dell laptop with serial com port inside.

By experience, using a usb to rs232 converter is not possible with S5 software. You must use a real com port. However it exists usb cable with S5 software patch (not tested). http://www.process-informatik.de (German)
