  1. Panel Power Question

Look at NEC Art 725, and NFPA-72 Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 Remote-Control, signaling, and power limited circuits. As a rule of thumb, 24 VDC is commonly used for control and low voltage signaling, it is safer and a lot easier to work with.
  2. I found it on Rockwell, 1203-SFC, but my vendor says it is obsolete and that I should contact Tech support for a possible replacement. Do anyone knows the replacement part number? What cable are you guys using to communicate with any DataFlex Drive? I would highly appreciate any help. Thanks, Robert.
  3. Hi folks, Can anyone please give me some information about what cable to use to communicate with PowerFlex 40, PowerFlex 70, and PowerFlex 525.? I don't find this information on Rockwell side. Thanks, Robert.
  4. Hi Folks, I'm retrofitting an old machine and I need to index two cylinders, cylinder #1 will be keep extended to hold the part in place while cylinder #2 is retracted. After a few seconds, cylinder #1 will retract to let the part go to the next position on a downsream conveyor and cylinder #2 will extend and retract for a feaction of seconds then cylinder #2 will extend to hold the part in place to repeat the sequence . In orden to acomplish this, I'm planning to use two timers to index the cylinder on extended/retracted positiion. Is there a better way to do this? I'm usin a MicroLogix 1200. I would appreciate any help. Thanks, Robert.
  5. Hi folks, Do you know where I can find the set of Instructions that used to be here in the PLC Guide? These instructions, JPS, JRS, SBR, TON, CTU, SQO, LCD, RET, GRT, SUB, LES, ADD, OSR, NEQ, MOVE, CLR, FLL, etc., etc. are good handy tools when programming but it looks like there were removed. Does anybody know where it can be found? Thanks, Robert

In my facility I have three PC's running Windows XP with RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, Factory Talk ME, and Panel Builder 32, and my employer wants me to upgrade these PC's with Windows 7 or Windows 8. They also want me to upgrade RSLogix500 V7 to RSLogix V8, RSLogix5000 to Studio5000 RSLogix5000, and Factory Talk ME V5 to Factory Talk V7. My questions to you guys: Which OS is better Windows 7 or 8? 32 0r 64 bit? Service Pack 2 or 3?. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
