  1. Device Net Mapping

I'm not familiar with the EC3 overloads, but the mapping/sizing of the I/O for the devicenet should be configured using rsnetworx for devicenet. With this, you should be able to manually configure the size of the mapped I/O for the devices on the network.
  2. Ethernet Flex I/O

Thanks finfin. I put in a line of code and turned the output on and off a few times and then deleted the rung. The output stayed off!! I have never seen this happen before. I guess you learn something new everyday. Thanks.
  3. Ethernet Flex I/O

    Sure. Here you go. Thanks.
  4. I have a remote Flex I/O via Ethernet. It is set up on a contrologix controller. For some reason the output 0 is on without instruction from the program. I have checked the program several times and can not find the output anywhere in it. I thought the relay may be stuck, but when I unplug the ethernet from the adapter, the output goes out. I am using a 1794-AENT adapter and a 1794-OW8 module. Has anyone ever ran into something like this? Thanks.

    Thanks panic.
  6. panelview 1000

I see. Yes, I guess that would be faster. I will keep that in mind for the next project. Thanks.
  7. PLC viewers

Good idea on setting up the bookmarks. I will have to try that. Thanks.
  8. panelview 1000

I figured it out. I had forgot to put logic in the ladder to copy the PV in and out tags that I made in the program to the local..... in and out for the devicenet in the contrologix. It is up and running fine now. Thanks.
  9. panelview 1000

I have already used RSNetworx to set up the PV on the devicenet network. The node does show up and is communicating. This is an existing controllogix PLC with a program already running. The rung you spoke of, "Local:2:O.CommandRegister.Run", alread exists in the program. After thinking about it some more, I think I have to put some logic in the program to copy the devicenet data to the tags in the controllogix. Any thoughts???? Thanks.

Thanks. I talked to my IT guy and he suggested PDF995. I have already used it for some of the programs and so far it works great.
  11. I know I am forgetting something simple on this one (it has been a while since I did a new project on a standard panelview/panelbuilder 32). I am setting up a new panelview 1000 through devicenet from a contrologix PLC. I have created the PV IN and OUT tags in the controller and created the logic to turn on the output that I am needing. I can see the output turn on in the controller when it should, but I get nothing on my panelview. Can someone refresh my memory on how to connect the PV output in the controller to the indicator on the PV? I set up the tag in the PV like I thought I should, but it is not working. Thanks.

Is there a trick like this for mitsubishi or siemens also? Thanks.
  13. PLC viewers

Yes, that will be much easier. Thanks.

This is the only solution that I could come up with before I posted the question. I just thought that somewhere out there, there might be some kind of software to view PLC programs. I guess I will print and scan and put them on the laptop. This is probably the least expensive option. Thanks.

Thanks for all of the info. This should help.
