  1. I am working on a PLC project for myself... I want a program written in SLC500 and a circuit designed. 1. the auger has 3 west, center and east waste bins with 3 ultrasonic senser on top of each to sense waste level in the tank. 2. an incline auger takes the waste from the pit up to a 3 stage auger (first motor, second and third to the top of the auger) to distribute the waste evently to either west, center or east waste bin and the ultrasonic sensor should determine which bin is empy or full to receive more waste. 3. if the the west bin is full, the ultrasonic sensor should send a PLC signal so the auger motor would fill the second (center) or east empty bin and so on. 4. if all bins are close to full, a signal needs to be sent out to an alarm screen and a probe light for an alarm to empy the bins. 5. it should also be operated in manual with a touch screen 550 allen bradley panel. 6. there's going to be 3 motors controlling the augers to distribute the waste evenly whenever the ultrasonic asks for more waste. 7. once the bins are emptyed, everything should reset to normal. *** there's going to be a centerfuge system continiously running to turn product from solid to liquid to create the waste. So there will be a hard contact signal to start the whole process but there should be a manual button to control up to 8 3phase motors. desgin a circuit and a PLC program ASAP and e-mail or post it. Thanks
  2. With LabVIEW Real-Time support, can I add PXI or PC systems as slave or master nodes to a PROFIBUS industrial network. and how long of a distance could I connect I/O, sensors, and drives over in industrial environments? We're using Coaters, CNCs, Press Brakes, Lazer cutting equip., Robotic palatizer etc...
  3. I don't have a specific problem right now... What should be the proper way to connect to a Processor type 1747-L541C 5/04 CPU- 16K Mem. OS401 Series C. using RSLogix 500 and RSLinx Classic? and a laptop to go online? I only have a null 1747-CP3, SER. A RS232 cable that I want to configure. Could someone explain the steps for me, please. I mean from the beginning to the end. No shortcuts...
  4. RSLogix 5000

Yes, I was able to get the machine back and running on Friday night. It was a network issue... the rounter and ProfiBus went crazy and I replaced it... Everything works perfect now. Thanks
  5. HIM Download and Edit...

Wow! Your suggestion(s) really helped. I was able to go online and upload the programs successfully. Thanks for your help... I will just have to worry about programming the PanelView 550 and adding new buttons and password protected menu to it... (THE PLC PROGRAMMING PART IS DONE) THANKS ALOT...
  6. RSLogix 5000

YES, THE MACHINE IS ABOUT 3YRS OLD... TRUST ME, THIS IS GENERAL ELECTRIC AND WE HAVE ALL THE BRAINS THAT WE CAN GET OUR HANDS ON HERE... WE DON'T NEED ANYONE TO COME AND HELP US AT ALL... I JUST WANT TO DO IT MY SELF... IT'S NOT EVEN MY JOB, BUT I JUST WANT TO DO IT AND GET A FEEL OF WHAT MY GUYS GO THROUGH EVERY DAY DESIGNING THESE MACHINES...
  7. RSLogix 5000

As far as the "colors and buttons" disappearing, I don't know what caused it and the machine stopped completely... no reset, no light, "NOTHING" at all. The remote screen down stairs is to run the machine and view all the datas; TEMPS, SPEED, MIXTURE options, ON and OFF buttons, PROCESS TIME, lists of SENSORS, DRIVES, FAULTS etc... and it has more than 25 different menus. but everything just stopped, colors, datas, buttons etc... and when I reboot the PC, the RSView 32 takes forever to load... the RSLinx doesn't automatically start and the Server doesn't connect? everything is just going crazy? AND ALL THE AB, GE, SIEMENS AND TOSHIBA DRIVES ARE FAULTING LIKE CRAZY... I can usually think it through and figure it out, not TODAY. I have both, PC and laptop to connect directly from my office or on the floor? What do you suggest is happening? Note: We have all the scientist and engineers onsite but they are busy with their own projects and it's my job as a newly promoted Syst. Eng. Mgr. to direct them and find solutions or do it my self. I rather focus on Mgmt instead... but I want to try it out first before having my guys to do it... I am not an electrical engineer... i am a physicist and nano-technology expert...
  8. I have this $5Mil machine that is some how stopped all of a sudden... it has a Remote screen to run it with a DeviceNet... The colors and buttons on the screen all disappeared, the RSLinx is no longer showing up, and it's taking for ever to load the RSView 32. Finally, I am trying to go online but I didn't know how. it's a new machine with RSLogix 5000 Enterprise Version and on the Panel upstairs it has 3 different AB ControlLogix 5555 with 17 slot cards on it ALONG with Seimens, Toshiba, and GE Fanuc controls and drives Talking to each other. the systems is hooked up to a network through a router... along with a PROFIBUS, MODBUS, ETHERNET and all kinds of bells on it... and it's hooked to a PC as well... What do I do to go online to look at the program and how do I configure the connection? Not RS-232 for sure... Note: I know the SLC 5000 tags tricks and how to write codes in C++... unlike the SLC 500 using Data Files... I NEED HELP... I am just new to this SLC 5000 thing and Seimens S7... I work for General Electric... and I am a newly promoted guy to this game...

It's AB PanelView 550; Cat # 2711-K5A5 Ser# F using RS-232. and SLC 5/04 CPU using RS 232. and I know I will have to connect to each one separately to upload the programs. I know how to write the programs it's just configuring the connection is a little bit irritating. HELP...
  10. HIM Download and Edit...

What's ron beauforts's website? couldn't get to it. send me the link please so I can take a look at it... I will be taking some PLC seminar for a refresh with United Electric. Thanks

Okay, I am trying to go online and upload the existing program using a laptop and I do have the RS232 Cable and I am just getting confused on how to connect and configure it... DH or Serial Port? I took PLC way back in early 2000 but I kinda forgot the tricks. I do have the RSLinx Classic, SLC 500, RSView32, PanelBuilder 32 ready to go but just a little confused on how to upload the programs and work on it from there. What are the steps on how to go online or configure the connection. Let me know
  12. HIM Download and Edit...

Okay, I have the PanelView Builder 32... but for some reason, I couldn't configure it at all... I don't know if it's the cable I am using or what... I will be getting the SLC 500 tomorrow installed... Which cables do you recommend for both the PLC and HMI? I am originally a Designer and a Physicist but got promoted to be a Syst. Eng. Mgr... and I am just learning right now...
  13. Okay, I got this problem that I want to solve without loosing my current data... I am using PLC 5/04 along with PanelView 550, and I am not able to download the current HIM PanelView program to make any modification. And I couldn't go online to download the current PLC program. What am I doing wrong? cable wise?, software wise?, Interface... I need help... Any suggestions... I have both SLC 5000 and RSlogix 5 Pro...
