  1. Add Fonts to Sysmac Studio

Hi Bob, Sure this works fine for Cx-Designer, but I am using the NA screen which is programmed with Sysmac Studio. I did assume (wrongly) that it would be similar to the NS screen to program but it is quite different. Only a small selection of fonts are available from the ones I have installed on my PC. You're in luck as the Khmer UI is available however the font I use regularly is not. Also the font to create the customers logo is not available. I have created the customers logo and saved it as a png file so I can display it on the NA screen as an image rather than text so we have a work around.  I was looking to see if there is some way of getting Sysmac Studio to use fonts or if it is a restriction of the fonts that can be displayed on the screen. The NS screens (through Cx-Designer) allowed all the fonts but I cannot get the range with Sysmac Studio.  Thanks
  2. IS there a way to add/import fonts to Sysmac Studio for the NA touch screen. We need to display a company logo and have the TTF font for this which is not one of the choices for text. We have created a picture which we are displaying as in image but it would be nice is we could use other fonts in the future. Thanks
  3. After much reading.... I did find the following fine print hidden away in the option board users manual -  "Only FINS commands are supported. C-mode commands are not supported." SO I guess that the older NT & NS series screens that do not support the FINS protocols are not going to work. I have been trying to get the NX1P to communicate with an NT11S I have but no success. If anyone has done this I would appreciate any suggestions you can give, however at this stage I think we will be installing a new NA screen.
  4. Wondering if it is even possible to create a program in a NX1P with a NX1W-CIF01 serial port to communicate with an old NT screen. The reason for doing this is we have an old machine with a CPM1 series PLC and NT screen. Eventually we will do a full control system upgrade and integrate the servo feeders & safety together with the basic controls however the customer cannot spare the downtime at the moment. Unfortunately the CPM1 has died prematurely, I have dropped in an old CJ1 which I had, to keep the machine going but I would like to install the NX1P now as the replacement for the CPM1. If we can talk to the old NT screen for now this would be great otherwise  we will need to change the screen as well. Is this even possible?? Thanks
  5. NE1A safety controller

Hi, I have used a few of these Omron NE1A safety controllers. The problem with not being able to monitor the status of the controllers local I/O rests with OMRON !! One of the first units I installed had exactly this problem on DeviceNet to an Omron CS1. After some frustration Omron finally admitted this was a fault with the first generation of controllers. Their answer to the problem was to use explicit messaging to get the I/O status. This firmware problem has been fixed with subsiquent releases of the NE1A. If you have an NE1A with a v1 at the end of the part number this should be OK. The model number lable will show you the version of the firmware in the bottom left hand corner. I believe the latest is at least 2.0. Programming the NE1A: You will need to have the Omron safety devicenet configurator. It cannot be done with Cx-Integrator.
