Hi I have asked about this before, but have not got any solution. I give it another go and see if i can get some new ideas. In my NS8 i record alarm in the alarm-eventlog. The problem i have is that i record A LOT of events and alarms, and i need to be able to record about 1024 every day. I need to be able to record about 7-10 days back in history... I have used Proface (GP2301) before and i could save multiple alarm-event log files on the CF-card under different names, this is not possible in NS by some reasons. Does anyone have a solution how i can solve this problem. Thanks

Hi I would like to make a simple animation in the NS Designer. I have a lamp that i want should toggle between on 0,5sec and off 0,5sec. I have tried to make this with the macro, but have not yet made it. Anyone got any nice ideas? Thanks

Thanks Jay! Though it was not the answer i would like to hear... i have the NS-CA001 video module... I must say that even though the ProFace screens are harder to program, the have more capability once you learn... I am a bit disapointed in Omron-screens... how could i then use the feature save to cf-card? I would like my user to manually save that, but if i have a fullscreen picture, then i cant have a button for this... If i have a split-picture, then its hard for the user to see so good... Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks

Hi I have a few questions regarding videofunctions in NS Designer (and NS8 Screen). I have a system that contains: 1xNS8 Display 1xOmron PLC 1xVideo module (4channel) 2xCameras connected to videomodule 1xCF-Card connected to NS8 I would like to have a screen that contains a videodisplay (fullscreen 640*480). On this screen i would like to have some command buttons so that i can: -Switch screen to a new screen that contains another videodisplay (other video-channel) -Switch screen to Menu -Save image to CF-Card Is it possible that buttons overlap the videoscreen. Can images also overlap videoscreen? I have read the manual, but i dont really understand what the manual says... When using the "save to CF-card" feature, is it possible save multiple images to the CF-card? It only seems like i can save 4 different images (1 image/channel)? I would like to save multiple images of one videochannel. But i cant find a way to change the filename after each save... This is a feature i am also missing with the alarm logg. I would like to be able to save multiple alarmlogs, but that not possible (or is it?) Regards Loogi

Okey, i get the picture. But i must say that i think its strange that its not possible to run NS8 in some kind of demo-mode, without anything connected to it. I used to have ProFace-screens, and this feature is available with thier screens. Its a very good function. Omron vs ProFace 0-1

i dont have cx simulator. I have tried to set the comm-port to not used but i get the follwing error message: "Failed to read host registration. Correct host registration with Ns-Designer. Then, press OK and download project data." (i press OK) New message: "Communication error detected while downloading by the following case: -Corrupted data by noise -Transmit error by the host Allocation host: MRES=26, SRES=11" Any other ideas are welcome.

Thanks, but i cant see the video-images in that mode. I can only see it in setup/video settings, but then i only see the actual video-signal, not the screen i have designed. I need to see that it works like i want. I mix some graphic elements with the video wich i believe is not always supported...

Hi, i need to test my program in "offline-mode", without PLC (because i havent got anyone yet). I would like to see how the design looks and how the video-screens work, links and so on. I know about the test-function in NS Designer, but i would like to test the video-image and see everything directly onscreen. I have tried different settings in the NS8, without any result. Help?

I understand that part, but it only saves about 100 records. What am i missing? So the ring buffer is 100 in reality, but its says 1024 in the program. Hmmm?

i am new to the omron NS-system. I have made an alarm/history-log. But it seems like the events are deleted automatic. I cant find any settings for this. I have a log with 1024 records (ring buffer). Any ideas?

Is it possible to copy the NS program from a NS8 even if systemmenu is disabled?
