  1. Connect a S7-300 CPU to Internet

The CP343-1 module from Siemens connects to the S7-300 backplane. This backplane has a 187.5Kb/s max throughput speed (practical say 155Kb/s). I do not think you will find much performance increase over teleservice. Your present Teleservice adapter is probably connecting a 38,400 kb/s, for all the extra cost of a CP343-1 it might not be worth it. VIPA has a teleservice adapter VIPA 950-0KB40, this is a MPI cable with TCP/IP on the other end. It supports ISO RFC1006 - S7 functions and PG functions. You can plug this onto the MPI port and achieve the same results as the CP343-1 but for much less cost. - www.vipa.de You can program directly in STEP7 using a virtual ethernet CP343-1 or use the Virtual com port software provided with the cable. You set up the same port forwards (port 102) in the factory router, as other posts have mentioned. Then just password protect the cable (inbuilt menu) and password protect the PLC in STEP7.
