Had occasion to pick up a nice trick for Linx. After a sudden disappearance of a certain PLC which had been showing in RS Who a customer support engineer suggested I remove two files in the C:\Program Files\Rockwell Software\RSCOMMON directory. They are both named Harmony, one extension .hrc and the other .rsh . Deleted them and next launch they are regenerated. Disappearing PLC returned to site.. Ain't software fun?

Ethernet is Fun......Not
BaxtersDad replied to enigma's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
How are the 5-05's interconnected, CAT-5 to a hub or switch? A good switch would possibly help. Sounds as if your collection software may be polling way too much, as they are want to do... Just a thought. -

See the Rockwell Knowledge Base and look for "Setting up PLC/SLC Mapping in Logix controllers". Map the different data types as shown there. -
high speed counter + analog output
BaxtersDad replied to mos89's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
1769-IF4XOF2 will do +/- 10 VDC out. Check the property tab on the module channel of interest. There should be a drop down selection for output configuration. -
My PBASE manual indicated there are two disks (3.1/2") in the complete package. It also indicated that the software is compatible with DOS 3.1 and above. Since you probably have a more modern operating system it might be prudent to try running the software in dos compatible mode on your machine. The software manual should still be available on the AB site, Pub No 1746-6.2 "Basic Development Software Programming Manual" Hope this helps.

RSLogix 5000 SFC and FBD programming info
BaxtersDad replied to BaxtersDad's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Ron, Thanks, I stumbled across that document in my Tech Reference Library DVD late yesterday. It has a few good overview chapters but not much in the way of details. Sure seems like there would be more information somewhere.... -
RSLogix 5000 SFC and FBD programming info
BaxtersDad posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Can anyone point me toward some manuals which cover the AB implementation of SFC and FBD programming in the Logix 5000 software. I find nothing in AB's online literature section. -
Have a look at http://www.okbebco.com which has a good amount of information about the different purging systems and their applications.

Try 1761-NET-AIC on the serial port of the SLC 5/05 and configure the comms for that port.

Grounding a 24 VDC Common to Earth Ground?
BaxtersDad replied to Chris Elston's topic in Control Panel Building
Wombat... The spec covers "power transformer, control transformer, or power supply" which I and my local inspector interpret as covering a 24vdc power supply. Text in the code doesn't distinguish between ac and dc. I'd post the entire text but for copyright. -
Grounding a 24 VDC Common to Earth Ground?
BaxtersDad replied to Chris Elston's topic in Control Panel Building
Those of you building UL 508A panels may be interested to read section 16.1A which requires grounding of power supply output under certain conditions. Most especially those ps with 3ph 480v inputs. This change was effective Mar. 1, 2007.
