Hi We have purchased a ML1400, but upon starting to program, well that's it really we cannot program as we have Logix 500 version 7.10, and I think version 8.10 is required, my guess is that this isn't a free update! My question is; is an update possible or do we have to purchase the whole software again? Thanks for any assistance. Jon

Just managed to sort out the serial comms issue i've been having. It ended up being the serial port itself not the AB comms lead or the ML1100! I went through the control panel-system-hardware-device manager, then right clicked to remove the comm1 serial port, rebooted the laptop, restarted RSLinx, reconfigured the DF-1 driver pressed the auto configure button and success auto configuration was successful. So, I've sorted the serial port comms issue and learnt quite a lot about ethernet configuration in the process, Oh and managed to make an ethernet crossover cable as well. Happy days

Mickey thanks for your input, I was trying to set up comms to the ML1100 through the serial port and the 1761-CBL-PM02 cable but RSLinx was having none of it! I configured the driver but when it got to Auto-configuring the set up RSLinx froze, and I had to Shutdown RSLinx. Which could be a problem as I have to program some ML1500's soon!.. Hi I am having some serious problems trying to connect my laptop to a new Micrologix 1100, the cable I am using to connect is a 1761-CBL-PM02,SER.C. I have tried to communicate straight from the comms port on the laptop and through a USB adapter (1747-UIC) but have had no luck yet. I've read through the forum and one cure I read was to check the RS linx version as it needed to be 2.5 or above to communicate with the micrologix 1100, my version of RSLinx was 2.43, so I have now updated to 2.54, but still with the no communications issue. I also have a standard ethernet cable if this could be used! but I wouldn't know the settings to put in RSLinx to make this work. Any advise on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Jon.

Dear all, Could anybody give me some advise or send me an example of reading a 0-10v signal (from a level controller) in the program of a micrologix 1100, I have programmed with timers, counters, sequencing etc but have never had to do any analogue control. All I require to do is read the value (Level in the tank) and turn pumps off at low level then start back up on a rising or high level. Also I'm not sure of the addressing of the analogue input, on the plc it is IV1. Thanks for any help.

Hi, Does anybody know of a way to transfer RSLogix 500 from one pc to another without the original software cd. my site laptop is slowly fading away so I need to transfer to another laptop, but unfortunatley the original software cd for the software on my site laptop is missing!!! I can transfer the activation key to a floppy easy enough, but I am thinking the activation key will only be relevant to the software on the site laptop. Thanks in advance. Jon.

WP500329_Rev3_0.ACD Hi Could anyone tell me how to read an ACD file, the proccessor is AB but I can't read the program with my software, which is RS 500. Do I need RS 5000 to be able to read this type of file? I've attached the file if this helps any. Thanks Jon.

Does anybody know the configuration of the 5vdc power supply port on the E50 HMI used in Mitsi projects. All the E50 does is warn you that if you use the wrong configuration it will cause perminant damage. I would summise it is positive on the sheild side and negative on the pin but would like confirmation. Thanks.
