  1. It's looking like I am gunna have to do it this way, along with concatenating the DINTS into a DINT to STRING for a "time-date" stamp. I always hope for the best and make sure I didn't miss something that might have been added like a new feature or firmware update that I overlooked.
  2. Checking to see what might be some methods to capture a time and date stamp into an array element, then display that on a panel view? Right now I have a 100 element array, I want to treat this 100 element array like a log file. I have EPOCH time setup in this program, so I can capture the EPOCH into the log. Is there an EPOCH to Time/Date display or function in a Panel View trick somewhere maybe? Any other ideas for how you guys have handled that one?
  3. Bob, Yes so see here this Panel View TAG: {[PLC]ML_DataBase.Display[0].RemainService} I want an indirect address where the ZERO is. {[PLC]ML_DataBase.Display[myvar].RemainService} I was just checking to see if I missed any updates or not that would allow this.
  4. Does anyone know if Allen Bradley has added Indirect Addressing to PanelView Tags yet? I didn't hear anything in a while, but I thought I would ask in case I missed any new releases.
  5. Ok so this isn't really automation related but is there any accounting people here? I've got quick books pro, and I would like to show in quick books that I am investing money into the company. So I need to make it show that I put cash into the business. How do you make it do that in Quick Books? Normally cash is inserted as you invoice people and they pay their bills. But in this case, I want to put cash into the business myself, so there is no invoicing, however I should of course see the checking account of the business increase because I personally put cash into the business. I do have "stock" in the business but wasn't sure how to do this? Any accounting pointers? Which way is the best way without getting taxed for it, or uncle sam raising a red flag?
  6. Open .RSP file

I think his has been resolved. PDF Uploaded.
  7. REGISTERING............ We manually approved EACH account to avoid spammers. If you can not post yet, it's because we have not approved your account yet. BANNING............ We are starting to ban public internal IP schemes such as: 192.168.0.x 192.168.1.x Private IP addresses range from: 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255 172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255 192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255 The reason is that SPAMMERS have found away to "spoof" there original IP address that is seen by mrplc servers. IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS ACCESSING mrplc.com or do not have permission to post etc, this is because your IT department is spoofing your PC to hide behind a firewall and only expose your internal IP address. We believe this practice is WRONG and gives user now the ability to "hack" or "spam" without knowing who the real source is. To check your exposed IP address, use these sites: http://www.whatismyip.com http://www.myipaddress.com If your IP shows up as an internal IP scheme, you will NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS MrPLC.com. Sorry to be strict, but spammers can't be allowed to do this. I know this punishes people that have computer network configuration BEYOND their control, but there is nothing else we can do to help you.
  8. About three weeks ago we enabled guest downloads again. Where as before we required guests to have an account before they could download. What we found out later is that's is more hassle than it's worth for those that get an account, fake their e-mail, then realize they still don't have access, create a second login with a real e-mail, then enable the account, then download....it's a pain in the kester for both of us. So we have allowed guest downloads again. Our bandwidth doubled, I am not surprised at that, but since the current members are nice enough to allow banners to show, that more than enough pays for the "leechers" in the last two weeks and weeks to come. Thank you everyone. So what you'll notice now is what I call the "quality" member. A person that signs up now truly wants an account to post and participate. So member gain is slower, but should be a member that wants an account another than to download a file.
  9. Just for a testing, we have capped the file downloads at 50 K. It was UNLIMITED before this post. We have such high traffic of file downloads that this must be done to manage the server. We are evaluating this and may increase it, or we may institute a policy that goes something like this: Guest can download at say 25 K but if you are a member you can download 100 K speed. Anyway just wanted to give you a heads up if you are downloading files, and you think our server is slow, it's not...we just capped your download speed so those of you with 10 Mbps connections to Comcast FIOS can't suck the life out of the poor old server.
  10. FaceBook Page

Ok. Someone convinced me MrPLC should have a facebook page. So we have one now: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/pages/MrPLC/97475816007 We'll see what happens.
  11. Just a note, that if you had any RSS feeds to this forum board, you'll need to redo those. Please click the link in the up right corner and re-subscribe.
  12. I know this probably isn't for everyone, but Social Networking has changed the way we do thing on the internet. So with that, MrPLC now supports Twitter Integration. If you would like to login with your Twitter account, you can do so now. If you want to combine your twitter account and your forum account you can do so. You may have to logout first. Once logged out, sign in with the twitter connect button. You'll be taken to twitter where you can give the MrPLC twitter application permission to link your accounts. Once you do that, you'll be sent back to MrPLC. You have a choice that you can create a new account, if you have not created one, or link to an existing forum account. Now this step is important. When LINKING YOUR TWITTER ACCOUNT TO YOUR FORUM ACCOUNT, enter your forum "E-MAIL ADDRESS" not your "user name" for your MrPLC account. After you have done this, you may go to your Profile and edit your twitter sync settings. Right now I have mine set to sync my twitter updates to my forum board status. So in your profile at MrPLC, everyone can see your social habits and see your twitter updates. The Sync time is set up every 3 hours for now. And the rest of the settings are self explanatory. Later on, MrPLC may start to stream member updates. Think about this, if you are a business with a twitter account and you want to announce a new product on twitter, if your account is connected it will show up on MrPLC so your product updates and announcements can be seen in real time.
  13. I know this probably isn't for everyone, but Social Networking has changed the way we do thing on the internet. So with that, MrPLC now supports Facebook Integration. If you would like to login with your Facebook account, you can do so now. I will DISCLOSE this, if you login with Facebook, things may appear SLOWER...That's because MrPLC.com has to check if you are logged into Facebook. If Facebook is slow or down that day, well you can guess what happens. If you want to combine your Facebook account and your forum account you can do so. You may have to logout first. Once logged out, sign in with the Facebook connect button. If you are already logged into Facebook, there will be a long delay then you'll be taken to your profile page. If you are not already logged into Facebook, you'll be taken to Facebook where you will need to login with your Facebook account then sent back to MrPLC. You have a choice that you can create a new account, if you have not created one, or link to an existing forum account. Now this step is important. When LINKING YOUR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT TO YOUR FORUM ACCOUNT, enter your forum "E-MAIL ADDRESS" not your "user name" for your MrPLC account. After you have done this, you may go to your Profile and edit your Facebook sync settings. You may sync your facebook updates to MrPLC if you wish. So in your profile at MrPLC, everyone can see your social habits and see your Facebook updates. The Sync time is set up every 24 hours for now. And the rest of the settings are self explanatory. Later on, MrPLC may start to stream member updates. You can also "Like" a topic. If you are logged into Facebook, you'll see the "Like" button at the bottom of a topic. Think about this, if you are a business with a Facebook account and you want to announce a new product on your Facebook page, if your account is connected it will show up on MrPLC so your product updates and announcements can be seen in real time.
  14. Just because we use IPB forum board, we have access to some of the nice things they do. http://www.invisionp...om/suite/iphone The new version of the IP.Board iPhone App is now available in the Apple App Store for download. (search for IP.Board) not MrPLC. If someone has an iPhone and wants to work with me to make sure it connects ok, please post here any feedback.
  15. Open .RSP file

Same for me. I will report this to PDF Supply.
  16. Uploads to download area will no longer support PDF uploads. For the sake of people trying to "stream" a PDF document from MrPLC. I think I will require that all downloads be ZIPPED up first before you upload. We can't allow any more raw PDF files uploaded directly. There have been some problems with people trying top stream a 50+ MB PDF file, rather than selecting the download option. I will go through and zip up any PDF files I find.
  17. Did you guys see that we past 2 million downloads? Wow... There have been 2001848 logged downloads to date This just amazes me and I hope that everyone that has given to the downloads in either information or sample code is proud of this. Thanks everyone for helping educate the whole world on PLCs!
  18. Just a short note, we fixed the "B&R" PLC search query in MrPLC. You should be able to search for B&R now. We might add a forum for this PLC as the activity is picking up for this company. Kudos to them. Sorry to B&R our forum search has been broke for while. The ampersand is a tough character to deal with.
  19. GE online Catalog?

Is there a GE Catalog in PDF format hidden on the GE website somewhere? All I can find is the manuals but not a PDF version of the catalog I get from my suppliers. I wanted to point something out in the catalog electronically but couldn't find a link. Anyone got it bookmarked?
  20. Well I dunno, thought I would post what I have so far in case anyone else runs into this. It seems you can only do large transfers through a MSG instruction, is what I have arrived at. I don’t know if that works for me for a SLAVE device connection to get the tags out I need or not. I would need to purchase these items to test it out to see if this can be setup, I have no clue if this works, but atleast I got an answer from RA what hardware and versions I need to attempt it and get someone else started too incase you encounter this as well.  Good Luck! As per attached snapshot of error , it seems that you are trying to increase data size for Generic ethernet module.  For Generic Ethernet module,  Error : Failed to modify properties Invalid Output size The number of output configured output tags is too large   The limit is 124 tags of the type DINT The limit is 248 tags of the type INT The limit is 496 tags of the type SINT   Error : Failed to modify properties Invalid Input size The number of input tags configured for the profile is too large   The limit is 125 tags of the type DINT The limit is 250 tags of the type INT The limit is 500 tags of the type SINT   Large CIP generic messages (messages up 3980 bytes) are available with some requirements. Large messages are typically used with socket programming to send and receive more then 480 bytes of data at a time. The Large Connection checkbox is enabled only when the Connected box is checked and CIP Generic is selected as the message type on the Configuration tab.   To use Large messages with a ControlLogix controller and a 1756-EN2T(R) module, the following are required:   ·  1756-EN2T(R) and 1756-EN3TR modules at revision 5.x and higher for socket support ·  Logix Designer application, version 21.00.00 or later and RSLogix 5000 software, version 20.00.00 or later ·  The Large Connection and Connected checkboxes must be checked in the message instruction(s) Selecting the CIP Generic message type enables the Large Connection option on the Communication tab. Use large CIP Generic connections when a message is greater than 480 bytes. 500 bytes is typical, but there are headers at the front of the message. Large CIP connections are for messages up to 3980 bytes.   • The Large Connection box is enabled only when the Connected box is checked and CIP Generic is selected as the message type on the Configuration tab. • The Large Connection option is available only in Logix Designer application, version 21.00.00 or later and RSLogix 5000 software, version 20.00.00 or later.  You can refer this from https://literature.rockwellautomation.com/idc/groups/literature/documents/rm/1756-rm003_-en-p.pdf (Chapter 4)     I tossed a project together to grab the screen shots to go along with this:
  21.   Do you have an Insight how to setup a MSG instruction to do that? The documents I find talk about Read Tag Fragmented service with the method you mention. When looking into the MSG instruction, there is not a Read Tag Fragmented in the services options. I don’t think this will work, because the problem is the CONNECTION to the SLAVE. If I was doing Producer/CONSUMER tags that are larger than 500 bytes, this would make sense to me to use a Read Tag Fragmented Service MSG instruction to get a UDT from one PLC to another PLC, however that is not what I am trying to do. An Omron PLC with Ethernet/IP can read the Large Forward tags on this same slave.
  22. Yes there is a size limit in Standard CIP EIP, but you can "enable" large forward open which allows up to 64K bytes! We are all digging trying to figure that out...the actual CIP specs says this: The maximum size of the MR request and MR response packet items in the SendRRData command is 504 bytes (the maximum size on Ethernet/IP), to ensure that a UCMM message can traverse all the links in a CIP network path. Devices may support the Large_Forward_Open service (see Volume 1, Chapter 3) to allow more efficient access to large application data sizes. and also: Connection Size The CIP connection size shall be no larger than 65511 bytes. NOTE: The Forward_Open request limits the connection size to 511 bytes; however, the optional Large_Forward_Open allows larger connection sizes. Have you seen how to enable that in an Allen Bradley PLC?  Omron NJ does it no problems.
  23. Yes, Vendor does have an AOP EDS, I tried it with that, and same result. Got same 500 byte error.
  24.   That didn't seem to work, but I have version 31 installed at the moment, haven't updated to 33 yet. I get an error when I try to bump over the 500 byte limit in the connection window.
  25. Ah HA! Someone who has seen this, that's my question... I have a standard Compact Logix, however I read a document that said the newer Compact Logix did support large_foward_open. I found this statement in a KB doc: The UDP sockets in the EN2T and new CompactLogix controllers can also handle the large forward open size (about 4k), so they can transfer more data.” Do you have a list somewhere or a compatibly chart you have seen? How do you configure the connection size when you find out you have one?
