  1. MX4 HMI comms fault

Hi there I've got HMI setup to connect to multiple plc's. They are connected over broadband via Moxa nPort 5110 converters. Normally everything is working fine but in case of one of the Moxa converters (i.e. power down) isn't any longer visible by the com mapping software I'm getting fault. What happens is when Moxa unit isn't on network any longer the soft cannot map it's IP address to com port. In result I have one port missing and IO Server isn't loading at all. I was thinking that is should only affect this one port but for some reason IO Server isn't connecting to any of the com ports. As result I have no comms at all. Anybody has any ideas? That's the fault I'm getting Thanks for help. JUST SPOKEN TO CITEC DIRECT AND PROBLEM IS SORTED Solution was simple -nts command in port settings.
  2. FX3G + FX3U ENET and port forwarding

Hi, I've just checked it and works!!! Thanks very much :) Tom
  3. Hi there I've got a little problem here. How do I connect to remote site with FX3G and FX3U ENET module? Module is behind the router so port redirecting is the solution. In GX Developer in communication settings there is nowhere to put port number :( I know that VPN would be a solution but I need to be able to connect to multiple remote sites at the same time. Any ideas there? Thanks Tom
  4. PC to FX3U-ENET

Hi there I've got the same problem. I'm working on Dell Latitude E5500 and I can't connect to FX3U ENET. I've spoken to Mitsubishi and they've had another 3 dell laptops with the same problem. Funny enough I can picn the module and module is pinging the laptop but that's all I get. No comms at all. Even when I tried to connect straight to FX2N ENET ADP it still wouldn't connect. I've tried it on Windows7 and XP Mode with all firewalls switched off. It drives me mad recently so if somebody knows any solution please help. Thanks
  5. FX1N, FX2NC-ENET-ADP and Broadband

Hi I know that in theory it shouldn't be any problem but it is and it's driving me mad. Let me explain everything. I've had this PLC setup all over the UK with different routers and I have some issues. With Draytek ADSL routers everything seems to be ok for now. I've had old Linksys and it worked fine, when I put Netgear that suppose to be better than Linksys - not so well. Site could be online for few hours and suddenly goes offline. I can't even ping router successfully :( Then after reset usually it comes back to live for a while (or sometimes not). With Netgear router when I plug the ENET module in to it the port LED on the router is lit but not green like after plug in my laptop in, but orange?? Any thoughts? Thanks Tom
  6. FX1N, FX2NC-ENET-ADP and Broadband

Hi there Thanks for reply I was thinking about issue with cheap china products but router I'm u sing is quite popular on the market and using it at home network doesn't cause any problems. What's so different about PLC that routers are having problems then? Tom
  7. Hi there I've got FX1N with FX2NC-ENET-ADP module and I'm connecting it to ADSL router. Is there any router that will not work with this setup? I'm having issues with Netgear DG834. PLC is online for some time and then suddenly looses connection and I don't know why. Any ideas? I know when I ask Mitsubishi they will tell me that Westermo routers are preferable but £500 price tag isn't that nice to me. Thanks for any help. Tom
  8. Hi everyone, I have few questions about my new project. We do automatic bollards around the cities and we just started big project (16 sites for now). Each site will have FX1N PLC and they are independent. Normally we use pstn modem to dial up to echa site and controll it using MX4 HMI from Citect. Right now because of number of sites our client wants to use Fiber Optics instead of PSTN. All data from 16 sites will be collected by main HMI in CCTV controll office. My question is: What sort of network should I use (sites are up to few miles from cctv and each other). I was thinking about using Westermo ODW622 modem and connecting them in multidrop network. Then each of them will be connected to PLC via RS232 cable. On the PC end will be the same modem converting Fiber Optics to RS232. Am I right or no? Thanks For any help
  9. Hi everyone I have problem with answering the call from PLC. Basically what I have is: FX1N with Westermo TD35 (PSTN modem) and I'm using MX4 HMI to dial out to the PLC and check parameters on SCADA screem. That's simple. I need also in case of any fauld to get the call from PLC and answer it on my PC. I managed to set up connection but I don't know what should I type in Cicode Editor to be able to answer incomming call. Could anybody help me with this? Thanks Tom
  10. modem connection problem

Hi there I have really serious problem with communication to PLC I am using FX1N PLC with Westermo modem TD33 connected to PLC via RS232 cable (RS232 card fitted to PLC) I tell you what I have in normal cases like this: 1. Im dialing modem using Hyper Termnal in windows. Program is dialing, modem is answering (fax tone) and when I am connected I'm getting message CONNECTED 9600 - that should be In this case I have message CONNECTED 9600 and hundreds of zeros and strange crap on screen. It looks like some noise added to my connection. Could You tell me why I have this noise?? thanks Tom
  11. Communication problems

Hi there I have really strange communication problem, but first few infos about system configuration. 1. Mitsubishi FX1N PLC with RS232 card installed 2. Westermo TD33 modem connected to PSTN phone line and linked with PLC via RS cable I'm not able to communicate with PLC using phone line. When I'm trying to dial PLC from my laptop I can hear that laptop is dialing, modem is answering and GX Developer is saing that line is connected. Then when I'm trying to go to monitor mode GX Dev is saing that cannot communicate to PLC. I'm sure that program in PLC is exactly the same that in my laptop. I have checked cable between modem and PLC, I have replaced PLC, replaced modem - still nothing. There is one more think I connected my PLC with laptop via SC09 programming cable to check program. I went online without any problems. After that I plugged in phone line to my laptop (I didn't touch SC09 cable) and I dialled PLC everythink was PERFECT. I was able to go on monitor mode (using phone line), but..... as soon as I disconnected SC09 cable all communication died. Please help because I have no idea whai I'm doing wrong. Thanks Tom
  12. GX Developer problem

Thanks m8. You saved my life Tom
  13. GX Developer problem

Hi everyone I have problem with my GX Developer. Last time when I was connected to PLC I made few changes in probram using MONITOR (WRITE MODE). I disconnected PLC, and now when I'm trying to change something in program offline WRITE MODE pressing F4 to convert program something strange is hapening. GX Developer is searching for PLC (even if I'm not in monitor mode) and obviously not finding anything. So I'm not able to change anything in program offline?? Another think is that before I connected PLC I could do everything. Please HELP Tom
