  1. From PLC to Excel with DDE

i have open office calc (open offices spreadshhet) talking to a dl205 via dde using dsdde. you will need dsdde to interprit the dde commands from windows to the plc, then its just a matter of setting the right syntax from the cell to extracting your value. =DDE("dsdde";"Koyotopic";"x00") is the arguement for the cell in calc excel will be simmilar, i recall it contains the pipe charactor somewhere, i think between the topic and the application. cheers,
  2. i have a koyo plc with dsdde running fine, i can see the internal registers on open office calc on the PC that has the rs232 connection problem is when i go to open dde share on another PC vie athernet i get "can't bind to dsdm service" . both machines are winXP with sp2. i have a feeling its a windoze prob but there website is not real helpful. i have the serviced netdde and netdde dsdm seviced set to auto and the services applet syas they are started. cheers, holto
