  1. I am using a prosoft profibus module in a control logix chasis. This is connected to 2 mettler teledo profibus modules that are in turn connected to mettler teledo load cells. In the control logix software(RS5000 V16) i am turning on the bits for the commands for the mettler teledo profibus modules and i am not getting a weight back. Is anyone familiar with these at all. I have tried to contact metler teledo for tech help but i have not heard from anyone. Thanks
  2. Siemens S5 308-C

If there are any Siemens S5 buffs out there, help would be great. I am working on an existing system that consists of a Siemens S5 with a 308-B profibus card and am attempting to upgrade it to a 308-C. In the Existing S5 program from programming block 1 there is a call to function block 192. In function block 192 there are 22 variable declarations that i need to translate. This machine was built in Germany. Listed below are the variables that are declared in this function block. Can anyone translate what they might be. Variables: FB192 FREI f4.7 DBNR kf223 ADR kf244 DATW kf10 DRZ1 f136.3 DRZ2 f136.4 EIN f4.0 DREH f0.7 LOES f4.1 PARA f4.2 WAZE t12 ZEIT kt100.0 LANF f4.3 SIT f4.4 VER+ f3.6 VER- f3.7 STOE f4.5 ANAP kf0 ANAL fw202 ANAS fw202 ANUU f202.0 ANUI f202.0 If anyone can shed a little light on this. Thanks
  3. RSView SE

New installation of RSView SE 4.00. Trying to open an existing application created in version 3.2. Created application created HMI server Imported project Error message on all screens during import (DMM(9:1) could not import "screenname" for displays after import completed i went to displays and imported the old screens one at a time. They imported fine bin when i go to try and open them i get an error message saying (component does not exist: "screenname") anyone have any ideas. thanks
  4. Ultra 3000 Indexing

Thanks for the help guys. I ended up wiring the external encoder directly into the ultra drive. I set the inputs to the following Input 1: Drive Enable Input 2: Follower Enable Input 3: Operation Mode Override Input 4: Start Indexing On Forward motion i turn on Input 2 (Follower Enable). at the end of the travel distance i then Turn off Input 2 and turn on input 3 and 4 and follow an index profile for the return position. Worked Great. Thanks again.
  5. Ultra 3000 Indexing

The application is folding the tops of 5 lb bags. As the bag passes under the folder the servo has to start and match speed with the converor carring the 5 lb bag. Once the folding is complete the servo returns to starting position and starts on the next bag traveling under it. The traveling distance is about 16 inches forward and back. By customer request i am using a micrologix 1100 plc. The external ecoder would run with the conveyor carring the unfolded bag. I am currently feeding the ecoder into the micrologix inputs 0 and 1 (a high b high). From here i would have to send an analog signal into the drive for speed reference. I am thinking that it will work better if i take the external ecoder directly into the ultra drive. I am using ultraware version 1.63. I have never set one up this and was hoping for maybe some examples in the ultraware software on how to do so. I have questions on how to set up the index control panel and other things along this order. never seeing one operate its tough to image the setup. Thanks
  6. Has anyone here ever setup an ultra 3000 (2098-DSD-020) drive using an external encoder for speed reference and running index parameters. any information would be great. Thanks
  7. I am using contrologix L55 processor to connect to an Avery weight tronix E1070 Scale via Ethernet. I am using message instructions to pull in information. In the message instruction setup i am using CIP Generic, and Get Attribute Single. I have the Instance set to 112. I do not know what the class and atribute values have to be. I have talked with avery and they tell me that i do not need them, but the message instruction will not allow me to not configure these values. Does anyone have any experience with this. Thanks
  8. Powerflex 70 and ML1500

I guess you can only attach 1 file at a time, here is the .rss file DNET.RSS
  9. Powerflex 70 and ML1500

here is a quick example, this all changes base on the I/O size configured on the powerflex drive, but for this i just used default settings. Yes you do have to use RSNetworx for Device-Net software to configure the 1769-SDN scanner. DeviceNet.dnt
  10. This is pushbutton logic that i guarentee will always work everytime. I would also disagree with scraping the panelview plus terminals. As every application is only as good as the program is. HMI_Pushbutton.RSS
  11. Control Logix L5555

guru I have had similar experiences with ups manufacturers in the past. The plc is powered off of the batteries at all times on this system. There is no actual transfer that takes place. Thanks for the suggestions.
  12. Control Logix L5555

This plc is powered through a UPS. Grounding and isolation is good.
  13. Has any body experieced memory loss with these controller. It seems to happen at random, no real sympton has been established. I beleive it is running version 12.24 firmware, i am not positive on this rev. Thanks

What is overtime. Can you explain. Can i find this in the dictionary? North Dakota
  15. circular buffer logic

not totally following. How do you assure that the polling order is correct? What relay are you talking about? What HMI are you using, is it server based? What comms. Ethernet?
