Actually, just read this and had a similar problem on the PV550.  Would hold program until power was removed, no indication on battery or anything. Upon power up, Autotest would get to step 32 and fault with Error on the bottom of the screen. Replaced battery and all was well with the world… ( so far)…  Sorry for jumping on an old thread, but I’m a newb here and just hoping to save others my aggravation 🤬🤬🤬
