What version of studio? Updating the AOP might help
-
@ElectronGuru you’re correct that the speed reference the drive is pointing to probably can’t be changed while the drive is running but by understanding the io image, you can ‘change’ the speed ref on the fly by writing to the logic command to point to a new reference. I agree that ample testing should be done before changing a live system. Sounds risky in any manner

If you email radrivessupport@ra.rockwell.com, they usually respond in 24 hrs. Worth a shot

@ElectronGuru the second bullet point would stop the process. It sounds like this isn’t acceptable. Would it be easier to send a reference from the micrologix to the compact logix then do an online edit to redirect the data from the micrologix?

CompactLogix Point I/O Module Limits
VFD Guy replied to ElectronGuru's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
It’s been a while since I looked but Rockwell had an enet resource tool to build your system and test if the hardware would support the number of connections. Look on their IA site -
If you have some free outputs on the drive, you can make a clever speed select with parameter control on a DO wired to a DI to choose a speed select of parameter 38. I’m not completely understanding what needs to be done. An MSG is pretty simple if you’re sending a new reference

After replacing PowerFlex 70, the HIM is blind???
VFD Guy replied to wendaiyu's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
All powerflex 70s can use 20 him -xx. Even new A6 hims. Blank face is just a blank plate that comes with the drive as a place holder. If the him is not backlit then the power from the mcb is not powering the him. Are you using port 1 on the drive or a remote him? If the him is backlit but not logging in, make sure it it at the latest fw or flash the 70 back to the one replaced -
Other than the obvious of divide and conquer through the network, there may be an issue with the new Mac and the ip compared to what the switch has in its Mac table. Try the en2t in the same slot with a new IP. This would tell me there's a mac issue in the switch.

Run Powerflex 525 from keypad?
VFD Guy replied to RetiQlum's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Mismatch cp just means the control pod was changed. Reset this. Set the motor data and your other parameters and you will be ok. Try not to go more than 2x drive size or the drive can’t protect the motor -
If you set up a datalink, you can read the n file like the reference or feedback. This is shown in the user manual

How do I find out if a poweflex vfd LP or HP?
VFD Guy replied to PaulKim1003's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Hi power 755 are frame 8-10. Everything else is low power. From rslinx, it will say hi pwr in the name. LP won't show in rslinx, it'll just say PowerFlex 755. For control flash - LP is low power and HP is high power -
I would look into the switch settings.

PowerFlex 755 F12 (HW OverCurrent)
VFD Guy replied to PaulKim1003's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
F12 on a 755 is caused by 2x drive rated current outputted for longer than 8 us. It is important to know when this occurs. On start or while running. If there's and encoder installed, try running open loop. A failing encoder may cause this. Also, starting into a rotating load without flying start on. This is also caused by motor winding shorts, but probably not your case if you have many drives doing this. -
PowerFlex fault history
VFD Guy replied to RobinEriksen's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
CCW also has data logging to record data over time or trending which is in graph form and much faster sample. Or saving a techsupport wizard will also show you fault and alarm history. If the event occurs and there is no fault, it's likely the run or stop command was removed -
Auto assign IP PowerFlex 525
VFD Guy replied to RobinEriksen's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
The stratix 2500 supports dhcp persistence so yes you can auto assign an IP address -
Auto Download Configuration - compatible with vlans?
VFD Guy replied to bwhinch's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
The switch feature is called DHCP persistence. Most managed switches have it. ADC only triggers after a successful PLC connection. The IP and device type must match what is in the PLC. ADC will work across a VLAN (assuming the plc is on a different network than the drive) if the NAT settings are set up in the PLC -
Network issues are never easy. Some questions.. Do the drives only fault when they are running or idle too? Does the fault randomly change to any of the drives or is it mainly 1? Have you tried isolating a drive or bypassing the switch?

527’s don’t have parameters.
