I was using RSlogix 500, don't know the version just that it was CPR7, last night and ran into an interesting problem.

I opened a program and went online with a processor and made several online edits. I also had Outlook, Excel and a couple of other apps open. I was switching windows and all was well. Then I did a file save in RSLogix and then problems began. No matter what other windows app I would switch to after 5 to 7 seconds RSlogix 500 would take the focus back. This continued until I went offline and closed RSLogix. When I re-opened RSlogix it do not steal focus from other apps until I again did a file save.

I repeated this problem several diffrent times with at least 3 other processors and programs.

The processors where SLC 5/05 and I was using RSlinx 2.5 with ethernet driver.

This is on a Windows XP Pro SP 2 system.

What operating system you running. XP or 2000? I have had issues where when logixs was minimized it would take a long time to come back, like 20 to 30 seconds. I am running 2000. Xp did not seem to do that.

Was any VBA script running during or previous to the issue?

No VBA Scripts from EXCEL or RSLogix 500.

Is you Task Manager showing any applications or services consuming the CPU usage?

In my case it is different in RSL5K is not minimizing & screen becomes blue by using show desktop in TaskBar

Duh! WHy didn't I think of Task manager. Turns out that it is CPR 6 6.30 not CPR 7 and that it is Autoave for windows plugin causeing the problem. Run RSLogix standalone and it does not do this sttrange thing. run it from withi autosave and problems.

What do you mean by run standalone?

Normally Autosave launches RSLogix 500.exe and I get two processes rslogix500 and rsl500_6. When I launch RSlogix 500 from the start menu I don't get the rsl500_6 process or the problem.
