Does anyone know why the Tag Server in RsView 32 stays open in the system tray sometimes after a project is shut down? It doesn't happen every time but when it does you must reboot to get a project to open correctly. My initial assumption is that it thinks it is still needed by an application but all Rockwell apps have been closed.

This happens to us a lot.
Sometimes this will work...Shutdown RSLinx.

If not, reboot the PC.

I think you are on to something. If Linx is run as service it sometimes will not let go of the tag server after the project is closed. If i go to the RS linx launch control and stop it it does let the server close.

The lockup is common for RS View, problems with the Wattcom server RS View uses. But, by shutting down RS Linx, it should close the server.

Rebooting works also.

May be it haves when the external application like VB use the rsview database rebooting the Pc solves the Issue temporary close the external software before closing rsview
