Hello,
Who can help me to convert two old Dos Panelbuilder files (for the classis Panelview 1200) to
Panelbuilder 1400e files?
Because I wanted these old files import to RSView Me Studio and, see other topics, must using
Panelbuilder 1400e software but I have it not.
Greetings,
mulderm

I'd check with your local Rockwell Rep. I've always found mine to be an excellent conversion resource.

Another option may be to post the files here and seee if someone else can convert them for you. I don't have the software anymore but I bet someone does.

Let me see if I have the conversion sequence right.
1. DownLoad DOS Files to 1200 Hardware.
2. UpLoad 1200 Hardware to PB32 for Windows.
3. Use the convertor to go 1200 to 1400E.
4. Again Convert 1400E to RSView

Another member have the old Dos Panelbuilder 1200 file converted to 1400e and I have import it into RSView Studio ME 4.0.
But many, many problems I have with the Remote I/O communications.

Just out of curiousity how big is it? Might be easier just to rewrite it

Hi,
I have performed this conversion, as Bob says you can open up the old DOS file in 1400e, this will then perform a conversion, then open this file up through RSView Studio and then this will convert it across.
As you say the RIO does require some additional work in order to get it to work, the help files in RSView Studio takes you through this process.
Have a look at the technote A61764270 - PanelView Plus Remote I/O program examples using block transfers, on the rockwell knowledgebase as this has a number of programs to download to show you how it is done. This note also has an additional technote number to show you how to start the RIO from scratch.
After following this my RIO and tags from the conversion did make sense and you could follow them back through the program to the block transfers.
However, after going through it and not having the tags the way I like them addressed etc and also after the conversion you have a great PV+ screen with all its capabilities showing what is in reality a DOS screen. I am re-writing the program for the HMI and also putting it on DH+ rather than RIO, after looking and with some adivce from Bob this looks like the best way to go (in my case).
