For some reason whenever I try to create or edit a tag, I get the following error message:
QUOTE

Error Creating Tag:
'AB_KT-1' is not a valid Primary Communications Driver

Is this happening because I am not connected to the processor via the 1784 card on my desktop?

I'm new this but you have to configure the Channel, Node, and possible the Scan Class before you can start editing the Tag Database.

I would suggest looking for publication/Catelog Number ABT-9301-TSJ50 - June 2002.
You might be able to go to AB.com and find it listed as a download. I think it is about 318 pages long.
The book might be a little old but it has the proceedure for getting a project started up.

I'm currently right at that point and have not configured my system yet but will, hopefully, have it done before the weekend. I have three days to have preliminary project control screens ready for the customers visit!

Such fun.

Okay I figured out the problem.

Firstly, I had to be connected to the DH+ network. I connected it to my PKTX(D) card this morning.

Secondly, I needed RSLinx Professional and not Lite for my application. I thought I had installed Professional but for some reason I forgot to move the activation over to my hard drive.

Now it works great.

I was able to configure the channel and node in the RSView32 software and start building my tag database without being connected. I set it up as I would be using it when I get RSLinx Pro installed. It's not even loaded on the computer yet.
