I recently moved my software to a new computer( win xp) , I have a problem that when you try to add a driver , the pull down menu giving a list of drivers has everyone apart from pic aic one . Do I need to install a different version of rslinx for xp?

What version do you currently have? I can say from personal exprience that 2.43 and 2.50 work fine in XP with the PIC driver.
Whatever version you're currently using, you may want to uninstall and reinstall it. I'll betcha that will restore what is missing

AB's knowledgebase mentions something about windows compatability mode.
