Anyone know of a way to do a wild card search for description text in Logix 5, 500, or 5000?? I know that * and ? are used for wildcard searches for bit and file addressing but I am looking for a way to wildcard bit and file descriptions. (Some Programmers are really bad spellers!)

According to the help there is no way to do this but I thought I would ask on the fourm, possibly there are some tips that will arise from it...

IIRC, descriptors in RSL5000 can be searched for by changing the options in the search dialog, but I don't believe I've seen it in RSL5 or RSL500. You can, however, export everything to ASCII and open the <filename>.EAS in a text editor or Excel and get a list of all of the descriptors there.
