I think you may be looking for a 1747-UIC USB to DH485 Interface converter.

Dont forget the 1747-C13 cable if you dont already have one (this is the cable with the shielded RJ45 connectors for connecting to the DH485 port on SLC 5/01/02/03s.)

Don't tell me those boneheads decided not to include the RJ45 cable with the comm. module!

Nope cables are extra. That way you can choose between many assorted lengths :)

Or not buy one if you still have the old one from your PIC.

The PIC cable won't work with the USB version, you need the one with RJ45 on both ends. If you want you can use a straight through Ethernet CAT5 with the USB version.
