Hi,

I need to confirm the I/O addressing for devicenet using a Micrologix 1500 with a 1769-SDN.

The SDN will be installed in 'slot 1', ie adjacent the CPU.

Does the addressing then follow the convention:

I:1.x/b where x is the input word offset
O:1.x/b where x is the output word offset

(1 is the slot number)
(actual value for 'x' offset set by devicenet configurator for each node)

Any help will be appreciated.

Yes, that addressing is correct for slot 1.
For inputs you have I:1.0/0 thru I:1.245/15
for outputs you have O:1.0/0 thru O:1.181/15
When you configure the SDN in RSNetworx, on the module tab you select the slot in which the SDN sits, when you do the Input and Output mapping, the Micrologix address is displayed on the left hand side of the bit field display.

Hi,
I have a questions.
It's possible dowload to 1769-sdn rsnetworx configuration by PASS-trough on CPU MicroLogix 1500??
Ken Roach
Remember that when the 1769-SDN is used with the MicroLogix 1500, the Status information is placed into Input memory prior to the mapped I/O data. Similarly, the Command data word is placed into Output memory prior to the mapped I/O data.

See the I/O data map in the User Manual, Publication 1769-UM009, Chapter 5 for the I/O Image.

In response to the other question: the MicroLogix 1500 and 1769-SDN is the only DeviceNet scanner and controller combination that does not support a CIP bridging or CPU Passthrough connection to DeviceNet. You must connect your RSNetworx tool to the DeviceNet directly or through another supported interface.
