I use RsLogix 500 with a SLC 5/04 and PanelBuilder32 with Panel View 600. There a 2 comm port on the panelview : RS232 ( 9 pin) and DH+.What are my options that are available for me to communicate with PanelView as well as cables that I need ? It is the best if I can " see" both PLc and PanelView with RsLinx lite if it is possible.

What is the catalog number of the PV? I think the serial port is just a printer port and may not be on any help.

Someone here may remember if you can put the SLC in pass-thru mode and allow the DH+ network to be seen via the SLC's channel 0. Then you can get both the SLC and PV showing on RSLinx.

Mickey,

If you want to see both the PLC and the Panelview, first of all these two must be linked up by DH+. I guess it is given

The next thing you need is if you are using a

1. Laptop to program/view, then you need a 1784-PCMK card [It is a PCMCIA card that allow you to communicate thru either in DH+ or DH485]

2. Using a Desktop - you need a 1784-PKTx card in one of your ISA slot and linked to the DH+ network using DH+

By having either of the two options you can use your RSLinx Lite to configure the required drivers to view/program them.

Hope this helps.
