ranting.gif I have a 2711-T10C20 Panelview 1000, tried to connect via Ethernet...no go. The Panelview is connected to ABs 9300-RADES Modem, the other connection goes into Mencom Ethernet connection and Logix 5000 rack. If I connect thru the Mencom, I can see and talk to the Logix 5000, I cannot however talk to the Panelview. I am using Panelbuilder32. The Panelview and Logix 5000 talk without issue. I was under the impression that I could use the RS-232 port on the Panelview, and that the printer portion was switchable. I tried thru RS-232 as well with a straight and null connection, no go as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well maybe something has changed recently, but as far as I know the RS232 port is for printer use ONLY. In other words, it is pretty much useless :)

That's not a true statement, I've got two PV1000s that I use the serial (printer) port on for uploads. I believe you can set the port to printer use only via the setup screen though...

If you can get to the setup screen, you'll find the IP address and the mask, and what the ports are setup for. If the PV has a keypad, try pressing the right and left arrows at the same time.

Does anyone know the procedure for entering the setup screen on a touch-only panelview? (assuming someone didn't program a goto button for that) As I recall, you have to push 3 of the four corners simulatneously. Am I high on crack or is this possible? I tried getting into setup on a touch 600 and had no luck.

Gravitar, yes you can do it. Cycle power the touchscreen and when you see a little box on the lower right corner of the touchscreen, press it and you can get into the configuration mode.
